Light schedule for Auto's???

I wasn't offended. Just curious whether you were offering an opinion or scientific fact.
Cool. Hope my response helped you understand my position. As you can see there are natural processes the plant goes through in it's dark cycle so I like to allow that to happen. Does not mean it has to be done and I know many dont. In the end do what works for you.

has anyone tested their auto flowers to double check the thc...they lie about thc content because well you wouldn't buy low thc right? can your brain differentiate from 25 and 15% , doubtful.

this is sounding similar to breeder times.

I need to get into marketing smh
I think many are stuck on THC levels when terrine content is just as important. Just having higher thc does not necessarily give you better bud IMO, its more a balance of thc and other properties that create the best bud. Even looking at breeder claims you can see autos are always listed below photos in THC content of same strains. Will you notice that couple point difference, probably not.

there is also alot of marketing done. to get an even % means the line must be bred to be stable , even then there will genetic drift. ive learned clones are the only way to get close to what you expect your buying. its a carnivourous market and even when a breeder grows lets say 100 cultivars and hits it big on 1 , they exploit the test results of that 1 cultivar and use it to brand the line. they also probably only test the best tops with the highest amount of thc(duh) . people like data Nd whatnot so telling them they will get 24-29% makes them spend cash faster. plus alot of us are not able to get our product tested at all, or use cheap test kits that average over a few % in a range.

in the end I agree with @PadawanWarrior that they are destroying the gene pool and with everything it will make it worse.

edit: I would say though that mephisto is probably one of the leading autoflower breeders, and rocbudinc? but if they are smart in their breeder tactics they won't lower the thc but keep it on the rise

Nothing wrong with your position, I get it. I still feel it's up to growers to preserve the gene pool and agree it is a concern. I am just as concerned about the constant crossing of strains messing up the gene pool. I think that is a big threat to landrace strains. I am here in Canada, dont have naturally growing plants out there that my tiny 4 plant grow can screw up. In the end there are many auto growers, I stopped and switched to photos but will still be growing a few autos outdoors next year as they have advantages here with our short summers. My indoor grows are photo all the way.

You have to remember, led growers(like me), and GOOD leds are easy on the electric bill and have nice long lifespan aside from accidents and whatnot. All about the quality. If i get 10k hours(and this is just a guess) the amount of profits way outweighs being on 24 hours. My 1st grow under a 135 watt QB gave me 10 oz +/- a few grams. The light cost was $205. $185 plus $20 to have them assemble it. Shipping wasn't much. After the 1st grow the nextt 100 grows is well worth it.
Talk about it!!!

I'm not defending autos by any means
nor trying to maintain landraces
only pointing out that it could cause detriment to the photo gene pool.
I grow both anyway, each have their advantages
I wish my autos were up to par with my photos
could be bad genetics who knows

Could definitely be. Two of my autos are showing foxtailing and are overall ugly in my opinion. Two others were solid and from the same breeder. In fact I just harvested one of them. That single plant weight was almost the same as my entire last harvest. Not only was the yield impressive but so is the quality.
