I've heard some people leave lights on for 24hrs and some 18/6 all the way through to the end. Whats the best light schedule for autos

...and then there's everything in between -- 19/5 and what seems like a favorite, 20/4. The more light the more the potential, but also the more critical the light/nutrient balance and the faster changes will happen. If you are experienced and into monitoring your plants more, maybe go with 20/4. If you want a more relaxed grow, 18/6 will also produce.

Leaving lights on for 24hr from start to finish sounds amazing, but tough on the equipment. I bet the yields are better than 18/6 i wonder. I just got finished a normal grow and had them in 12/12 for 9.5 weeks flower. I Just got these 3 autos and am very excited to run em. Its just surprising that some ppl grow them under 24hr light from start to finish. Autos are something else..

You have to remember, led growers(like me), and GOOD leds are easy on the electric bill and have nice long lifespan aside from accidents and whatnot. All about the quality. If i get 10k hours(and this is just a guess) the amount of profits way outweighs being on 24 hours. My 1st grow under a 135 watt QB gave me 10 oz +/- a few grams. The light cost was $205. $185 plus $20 to have them assemble it. Shipping wasn't much. Some would claim bigger yields. But im sure it takes a seasoned grower to pull it off. If the plants start having deficiencies , 24hrs of light makes it hard to recover im betting. Prolly got to have a strict nutrient game too

Ask Mephisto genetics, top breeder for autos for some years and just now getring competition. They grow on 24/0.

Autoflower is a C4 plant and does not require darkness like a photoperiod does. Photoperiod is a C3 plant.
The more light you give it the more bud you will get.

@MATTYMATT726 - Mephisto is undoubtedly correct that to get the most out of their strains you'll want to grow 24/0, but that does not mean it's the easiest way to grow. I'm extrapolating from what I learned growing photos, but the more I pushed light intensity (and often subsequently higher temps) the bigger the buds, but the faster the plant metabolism the more nutrient uptake, so things can go sideways more quickly. I think you have to be a better more experienced grower to push plants to their limits.
If you're running lights 24/0 but they are backed way off the plants and the room temp is down in the mid-to-low 70's, then you are probably not stressing the plants, and an inexperienced grower could pull that off, but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of running the lights 24/0?

OP, do some research on what plants do during dark period. No matter if it is an auto or photo, there is benefit to allowing the plant do go through its natural process during dark period. There is a point to it even if some ignore it. I use 18/6 but even going 20/4 would be good. It's all up to you, they can be successful under all the pre mentioned light schedules. That said, I would still do some research on what the plants do when the lights go out and form your own opinion. Good luck.

I’m glad ppl actually tried to help u. I made a similar post yesterday n all ppl did was drag me for growin auto n not photo. I started with 18/6 and have had rapid growth. Probably goin to switch to 20/4 bc today I didn’t see as much growth as I have been seeing everyday. Good info here.

It's unfortunate you had that issue, hope this thread helped you out. Sometimes things go sideways on these sites, don't take it personal. Most are here to help. The Auto haters are to be ignored. Growers should be open to all things and many grow autos. Keep at it and ignore those who are too dedicated to pushing their opinions as gospel, there are many routes to get to the watering hole.
