Light Opinion

Just curious about people's opinions on this light as an entry level LED COB Unit. It draws about 300w from the wall so the 1800w can be ignored in the title of it. It is full spectrum white. Just wondering how people think it will perform?

lumens are for humans but thats a very small amount of lumens. 65 per watt.
it says they use epistar leds, but it says they are epistar leds "integrated" into "300w cobs". haven't heard of that...
their par map thing looks good.
someone would have to buy one and test it but that won't be me.

Mate has one the same. It is all he can afford.
He thought it was pretty good, but having now used it, he realizes it is a cheap & nasty steaming pile of faeces.
If you can only afford crap, buy crap and be happy like my poverty stricken mate.

NOTE: when a seller lists a 300 watt light as 1800 watts, RUN AWAY

It'll probably cover a couple of small plants. Fixtures like these are what I consider to be 'throw away' units. You may be able to get a grow out of them before components start failing. Probably ok for an initial light to get started but in the end, it's going to be in the trash heap.

If 300 is the total output, generous guess 85 par watts.

It would work pretty well in a 2x2 or slightly larger, like 30x26" would be okay. Moving up to a 3x3 could increase yield by a small amount but overall smaller flowers and lower yield per square foot, could be a good vegetative environment. Chinese branded lamps aren't known for using quality components, that's the main problem. Not similar to a 1800w HPS. I don't think it would even outshine 1800w incandescent. Similar to a 250w HPS.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Just wanted to see what people had to say about it. I actually bought the light because of my disability budget. These 2 plants were vegged and trained under 3 13w CFLs and a 4' foot 33w 150w equivalency LED Shop Light for 42 days until my light arrived. Pics don't lie, they thrived under it in 4'x4' foot space. They did so well, after taking clones I bought a 2nd one the following month. Like I said on a limited budget. I do have plans to do 2 light builds in December. What turned out to be a bummer was when 1 of the 2 plants ended up being a male, and had to trash it and it's clones. But still have clones from the other one and just took more recently as well as just started some gorilla glue #4 along with them for the next cycle. A little beat up at the moment with my neck and back injuries from transplanting (Bitzy) as my wife calls her and then putting the female beast under a scrog net by myself. Just to give you a size, she has a 4' foot by 4' foot spread and the scrog net is 6' foot by 5' foot. If you all want to check out the grow from seedings to current they are in my grow log.. Not 1st Grow, But 1st LED Grow.

If most people would do their research. They would know what they list LEDS as is not the actual wattage of the light. New people that try to get into growing for the 1st time, a good portion of them don't do much research: strains, harvest times, nutrient deficiencies, space, temps, air flow, and lighting. I've grown under various lighting throughout the years. Just started growing again after about 16 years. Do to neck, back and knee injuries and messed up Gov., CDC, and doctors reducing my medication to practically nothing.

Thanks... Still pretty sore and beat up with my injuries after transplanting from 5 gallon bucket to a storage tote and installing the scrog net by myself. Finished in the morning hours planting 3 more gg & bg seeds that germinated. Needed to transplant my clones, but couldn't take the pain anymore. Still have to take clones and their lights out of that room and put them in the other room. Then finish blacking out the window, attach Velcro around the door and black it out as well. Then pull the trigger and start the flip. Gonna kill me waiting. I need quality meds now do to these A--hole doctors reducing my medication...
That's all that really matters, is you're happy with your product. i'll check out your grow log and look forward to seeing the lights you build in December too.

Happy growin.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I may have been a weee bit misleading in my original post. Just wanted to see what people had to say about about this particular light. We all have grown and grow under different lighting. I know I personally have for years. At 52 I planted my 1st seeds at probably 13 or 14 in my bedroom closet. That is until Momma found them. Lol. I then had to grow outside. Then at 16 had my own place and started a grow under a bunch of fluorescent fixtures with 48" fluorescent gro lux tubes. Then moved on to a grow with a bunch of 150w gro lux bulbs mounted so far apart in homemade reflectors. Harvest and even revegged under them and kept 2 mother's for clones. We could go on about this. Point is this is suppose to be about LEDS and their lighting. I am new to LED growing, but not growing in general. I didn't just jump in and buy a LED light like some people have and then was disappointed about the results. Like anything I do, I fully do my research. I know all about the different brands of COBS, QUANTUM, DIFFERENT STRIP LIGHTING and K values. Which is why I'm hoping to do 2 builds in December. I actually bought the light because of my disability budget. I do plan on doing a couple builds by the end of the year. (Easier than building a model car) lol. Not 1st Grow, But 1st LED Grow. Thanks all for replying. Just wanted to let people know they can grow on a budget and then eventually upgrade. But of course they still need to utilize different techniques, than just putting it in a pot and expecting good results. I personally prefer training, defoliating, others prefer topping, fimming and other things. We're all different in all styles but with the same goal in mind. Good quality herb... Happy Growin' All.....
