Light Mover - Which One?

Area to be covered by lighting is 5'x5'. Light is a 600w HPS. The debate in my mind is should I go with the Hydrofarm 4' light mover track or the IntelliDrive 6RPM light rail? The Hydrofarm track takes about 13 minutes to go down and back 4 feet. The light rail is much quicker and completes the 6 feet to and from in about 6-7 minutes and also comes with adjustable end stops to pause the mover 0-60 seconds on each end. I understand that a slower movement is better but is 13 minutes too long?

Ever thougt about spending the same money your spending on a light mover on more lights? Im sorry i couldnt answer your question i have no knowledge on light movers as theyr not so common. Peace BBE

I do have more than one 600w HPS. The answers I receive will apply to all of my lights.

The Hydrofarm units are chain driven. They are noisy and MANY folks have had 'em fail...FALLING into their gardens.

I'd go with the Light Rail. Quiet, adjustable, expandable to 9' in length w/ lots of accessories you can buy to use more than one light...etc.

those Hydrofarm units are bad news.

good luck
