Light intensity question on these buds

I am a new led grower. This is my first run with an hlg 350r. Do these buds look like they’re starting to foxtail? 7 1/2 weeks of 12/12. OG kush. My light is on notch 7 which is 320w. One down would be 280. Where should I be at this point. I’ve got photone for android, and tent buddy apps, and they both read different. Tent buddy seems more accurate. About 45 dli right now. Very dense though. 18/19” above canopy.

Yep. Those are foxtails. The strain itself could be more sensitive to the light. I've had foxtails a couple times. Not a biggie really, unless you need bag appeal.

Fear not. They look nice. I have had a few strains do that in the final couple of weeks of flower.

Almost like the last "growth spurt" - I see a few white hairs poke through and the sides swell a bit as the others hair brown up, kink then recede. 2+ weeks later those will follow suit. Those late growth spurts rarely get to be much bigger than a little bulge in the side of the bud.

Mine pretty much started in mid flower, and was more than just a lil bulge. Mine was more like the whole buds were foxtails almost to the stems.

Good to hear. Thanks. I had a pure power plant strain foxtail pretty bad on me once under cmh315, so was kind of worried about it doing the same these last 3 weeks or so.

So should I dial it down?
Yes, deff. Although it's more something to remember for next time before it happens. Yes, of course their genetic dependancy to account for from seed. Though you're not the first led grower to ask this question. The cloner that know their genetic profile based on the lighting their used to. Sometimes the switch alone produces/brings upon a slightly different flower top. Bit general rule of thumb, co2 or not is dial down towards the end. Second growth spurts let go to di their thing can sometimes lower the quality not just bag appeal as the bud swells and the trichs can't keep up. If you lack far-red, might waqnna add that to. I hope this helps. Goodluck!

When you say 'seems more accurate' what are you basing that off? Your own thought of what it is? So a guess? I dunno. I don't understand why people want to get super technical without getting the equipment to get proper, accurate readings..... You're just guessing anyways so why rack your brain with random stupid numbers that don't even mean anything, trying to somehow make sense of these random numbers then making decisions based on that random number. Just guess a height and power and look for stress, then adjust as necessary. Better than chasing rando #'s around imo, or buy a phantom, or an apogee.
