light intensity during flower

hello,

i have de HPS that are dimmable. i was wondering if by having the light set at 600HPS for the first 3 weeks of bloom until i start to really see flowers before bumping up the light intensity to 1000watt hps is fine?

would this still work in maximizing yields?

ive also heard the opposite of people dialing down light intensity the last 2 weeks of bloom..

which way is best? looking to get some input.

Pour the light to them from the start. I run 600 MH to veg and 1000 HPS to flower. Dim at the end if you want to save juice.

every light is different, i set my dimmer to 20% for a seedling. when the plant has 2 sets of true leaves i start turning the light up another 20% every few days until its at full whack.

im asking more specifically for during flower.

i normally veg with 600w MH. but when flipping to 12/12 my question was if it was ok to start bloom under 600HPS and then bump them to 1000HPS only when flowers start to show. would that have much affect on final yield, or growth of the plant? if no difference then i can save some power cost lol

fair enough, my light will be on max by the time i start to flower my plants and it will be staying like that until they are finished.

If it's a 4x4 tent 600w should be OK for the 1st 2/3 weeks then up to 1000w.

There's a fair difference in canopy size/density between week one and week 3/4 so that's when I'd use the 600w I think the 1000w is more important for the maturing stage.
