Light for my mothers

I am wanting to set up 2 rooms, one for 2 mother plants and the other to flower the clones. My question is, how much light will I need to keep the mama's healthy enough to provide me with 4-6 clones every 2-4 weeks? Or is that too much to ask for?

Also, how bad do full grown mothers smell? I was planning on running ventilation only in the flower room because I didn't think about the odor of the moms.

Thanks for any input!

I was planning on using a 400W MH for them, but I was told that would be overkill so my buddy gave me a 4ft 54w h/o florescent that has 4 bulbs for 216w. Would that one florescent be enough? These are the two smallest lights I have access to.

I tend to have problems keeping moms under t5s.. The bottom foliage doesn't get any light once the plant is a few feet tall so once you clone it it seems to lollipop itself .. And you end up with a 6 foot tall plant with 4 feet of no foliage. I try to keep them as squatty and bushy as possible . I would prefer to use the mh but that's my opinion
