Hello guys i have a grow box for which is 60x60x160 cm. i placed 3x120 quantum boards in this box.
Now I've bought myself a small box for veg which is 80x60x80 cm
what light should I use there ideally? I'm gonna keep my autos there for 1 month and then transfer them into the 60x60x160 cm

Hi,here is an example.
For veg you want 15-25 watts (led)
6500-5000k (maybe 4000k)
For Flower 35-50 watts per square foot
2500-3500k
Remember most of the leds can dim so I run between 250-500 watts in veg. Depending of the season, local weather and humidity.
Also with leds you can grow based on your vapor pressure deficit (VPD). Basically to make it simple your humidity will dictate your room temp to maximize transpiration/CO2 intake also you have to add co2 enrichment to make it work. There is a chart for that and imho this is the proper way to maximize co2 in a grow room but that’s another long ass story.

My veg room 5’x 5’ = 25 x 20watts = 500w
500 watts.
I hope it helps

happy growing

If you grow between your golden numbers of vapor pressure, you will see the difference and it will make you a better grower for you and your plants.

for example: my flower room (aero/nft) fluctuate between 60-70% RH. my safe zone temperature based on the chart is 80-82f.
Here are my numbers from the chart:
80.6f - 27c (mini split a/c, CO2 700ppm)

My safe zone RH% with air circulation

RH% VPD (kPa)
85% - 0.54 Fungal Pathogens
80% - 0.71 MAX (big chance of fungal)
75% - 0.89 x Safe Zone Max
70% - 1.07
65% - 1.25
60% - 1.43
55% - 1.61 x Safe Zone Min
50% - 1.78
45% - 1.96 MIN
40% - 2.14 High Stress Zone

happy growing
Ps. Sorry but I got carried away with the VPD subject lol. Pic Kushberry 2lbs. 7oz dried low yield strain.

HI there, in that small cab I will use leds if money it’s not a problem. Plus heat would be more easier to control.
Here is my honest opinion:

(Best) Led = best efficiency. more light to less heat ratio. Less heat/ no IR wave.
Cons, they are pricey $$$.

(mids) CMH better efficiency than Hps/MH but not like led
Cons, heat, big and bulky, bulb replacement, I little pricey

hps/MH they are at the bottom of my list but they still grow kick ass bud
Cons, more heat than cmh/led, lots of heat. It will turn your room into a sauna with out a/c. efficiency

Also you could use t5 in there. They are cheap, they don’t add to much heat and they work good in veg.

good luck and happy growing

Ps. If your looking for a better answer go to the indoor forum and there you will find the led sub-forum.
