hey everyone this is my first post but i have been reading for a while. first of all merry Christmas. and what a Christmas it was, i walked into my room today and my light had fallen down and smashed one and a half of my plants pretty badly. they are 5 1/2 weeks in flowering. i just want to know how much that is gonna affect things as far as the harvest goes and what the best thing to do would be at this point. it didn't sever any branches but they were definitely kinked. One is a white Russian and the other is an unknown indica.

shit man that sux, and on xmas too? doubled down on the ~no bueno~ well...it just depends how much the damage will taumatize the plant. if nothing was severed and only bent, it might cause excess growth because the plant responds by trying to repair itself and/or grow new limbs.might take away from the nutes needed to make them nice and potent..? time and observation (and making sure your shits on tight) is the only thing thats gonna tell ya where to go from here. hope it works out man.

They will be fine, just prop them back up and carry on. I've done the same thing and worse, in a day or two it will be like it never even happened.

reinforce it with tape around stalks

i would avoid staking into the pot
Rather i would duct tape 2 stakes to either side of the pot and tie a cross peice to those upon which you can tie up the plant again.

This way you avoid disturbing the roots and posibally create more stress.

how does this happen? make sure you use chains and hooks from now on.

I've never had a light just fall, but I have let go of a chain while adjusting a light. Ended up more like supercropping though.

yeah i admit i didn't use chains and i should have. lesson learned for sure. i couldn't get a hold of a camera but i have them all propped up and they are getting somewhat rigid again. Thanks for all the help/advice and i hope to get a camera soon to show harvest pics.
