Well i have a 250w hydrofarm light system. This light was getting to hot for my room and 4 girls, so i looked into air vented which i should have got since the begining.

I voided my waranty and made my own buy cutting a 4in whole and instaling a 4in duct fan turned out pretty pro, now that i have it air vented how close should i be able to put it too my 6in girls. I have it at 18in know how dose that sound?

Thanks again for reading and if you reply.:bigjoint:

Just hold your hand under the light. If your hand doesn't burn; you're good. With 250 watts, 6-10 inches would probably be okay.

if your 250 is aircooled now, and your getting no actual HEAT from the light itself (as in, you can feel the warmth from the bulb a little ass bit, but you can put your hand right onto the glass sheet enclosing the hood, and keep it there indefinitely). If you can keep your hand right up to the bulb without it getting too hot, then you can move the light as close as you want to get it to your plants. Remember, your using a 250w HID, not a 400,600,or 1000w. With a 250, you can pretty much put the light right around 8-10 inches above the plant tops without worrying about anything.

if you were using a higher wattage, it would be a different story, but with a 250 its pretty safe to get right up on them with it. But also just remember that the closer the light is to the plants, the smaller coverage area your going to have, so keep that in mind, n go nuts man.

good luck!
