Light distance with COB lenses

Hi guys.

I am wondering what kind of distances you guys run when using lenses on COBS?

I got the lenses when I built the light. But never used them. I got a few grows in with this light and have had plants at 8”-10” away with very minor light damage by the end of flower.

How much do lenses focus the light?
I think they are 90*

I’m at 30” now. Plants are happy. But just 3 days into 12/12 they will probably stretch 12-16” in the next few weeks.

I would like to run the the whole Grow. Just for the sake of trying something different.

Don't use them. They're a waste of 10-15% passing through the glass and focus it too intensely.
Remove the reflectors as well, they're actually detrimental in a reflective tent.
Run everything bare, baby!

Have to agree with Airwalker-I found that even using the reflectors created hotspots in intensity. I get the best uniformity with bare cobs.

They don’t have glass. Just a focus cone.

If you can't lower the lights then lenses will be useful. There has been some problems with lenses it seems, certain brands and models having heat issues, because everything is so price driven now days problems do occur, this is another reason why it's important to buy locally, timber let people know there was an issue with the lenses and you wouldn't get that same service out of China because they don't give shit if your house burns down.
