Light Coverage

Hi all I know this has been asked before so please bear with me. I searched and searched but could not find the answer I needed. I was wondering if there is a formula to determining what the square footage a light will cover? I am sure someone here can readily answer this for me. Advanced thanks to those who reply with an answer.

250w 2x2ft
400w 3x3
600w 4x4
1000w 5x5.

That the generally census from any lighting manufacturer.

However in reality its usually a little less.


No formula to confirm just what everyone already knows from manufacturers.
