Light Coverage

That is an expensive light setup. I usually keep a 1000 per 5x5 area. some say you can do a bigger area but i don't think you will get as good of results.

Yeah bro that thing is way overpriced if you ask me. Got my 1000with digital switchable ballast, timer, sealed hood, light hangers, and all for $300 after taxes. You can find cheaper, and just as good elsewhere. Like youngdog said a 5x5 area. They say 6x6,but I think the edges get too little light trying to cover that extra foot.

dEPENDS how big you grow your plants.
If you only plan on running HPS, hydrofarm recently released some pretty cheap 1000w HPS ballasts.

Or you could invest in a quality ballast
I agree with you on HydroFarms equipment, as well as the plant size.
The light he shows is very expensive considering it is a digital ballast. For that kind of money, I would recommend the 8 year warranty magnetic hydrofarms ballast. That is what I have. The whole package, ballast, hood, and bulb, was around $600. I am all for quality. I highly recommend their 8 year warranty magnetic ballast, no complaints from me. I have been using them for three years now. Nice and quiet and zero failures.
