as for your question (trained pro, i know lol), I think curing them more would not help. I think your buds are 'airy and light' because your comparing them to a time when they were alive and well, with life pumping through their veins/stems. Now they've been drying for a day or two and most the liquid has ceased to be. So the veins/stems become hollow, brittle even. The dead buds will not become heavier by curing them. not unless you put them in a jar with a little spritz of water, then put it in a cool dark place. then they might absorb some moisture, but you'll never get that 'original fresh' back.
