Hey does anyone know if you can use a MH buld in a HPS fixture,The outside "nightlight" type. The HPS fixture and bulb are 70W what do you think???

Those things you circled are splitters. If you are in the States go to Home Depot, Lowes, maybe Menards

You cant use a MH on a HPS ballast, at least thats what it says on HTG website. Maybe an expert can add why?

I don't know if a regular mh bulb works in an hps fixture but i know they make mh conversion bulbs for hps fixture...thats what i'm using and it seems 2 be working well. You don't needa buy another fixture or ballast, but I don't think a regular mh bulb will do it...not positive tho.

Saw a 65 Watt CFL Flood light at home depot it says it has the same as a 500watt
will this work for veg.????

check the light spectrum on that 65w flood light as its better to have whiter light spectrum for veg like an mh bulb...my guess is thats probably a 6500k spectrum light which wouldn't be optimal for veg...

I have a few of those Flood lights and yes they do work well. There is a guy on ebay that sells them for a pretty good price (like 4 for $100 shipped to your door)...search flourex. Check the auction to make sure but the ones I brought were 6500k. They work great for vegging!

Yes. I used a 400w MH in a 400w HPS fitting and the ballast works with both, I would check the specks on the fitting. Don't want to blow your self up.
happy growing.

HIDs work the best. But you can use CFLs. Check out the CFL sub forum under indoor growing. 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower. Better yet...Veg with the CFLs and finish with the HPS.
