Letting the whole plant dry out with the bud?

I was thinking...

When the trichomes are where I want them, can i just take the whole plant and stick in a dark place around 80 degrees?.

I figure Id trim all the leaves off, flush it one last time and then just let the whole plant dry out.

Anyone ever do this?

Were the results (smoke/taste) any better/worse then chopping the plant and drying/curing conventionally?

i think thats not such a good idea, i think it will dry uneven, and itll take forever to dry, OH and ur risking MOLD like that, all around bad idea.

A person I once knew had so much bud to chop, trim, dry that he would have to leave some plants to dry this way.

Never hurt anything.

Maybe was a little smoother cause of slower drying.

But I have to agree, depending on your conditions you may attract mold.

I did, the plant was in rockwool and the plant sucked that dry in a day. As it kept losing water everything started drooping and going limp. After a few days, the plant looked like something out of a Salvador Dali painting, and I gave up. It was a real pain in the ass to trim the fan leaves, very floppy and shit. I hung it up and it dried up like other grows with that strain from there. No idea how it would work with dirt, I imagine similarly but slower.

i dont trim til its dry with my grows, heres my last harvest...

I usually grow scrog dwc. When I harvest, I cut the roots off and flip the screen with the plant attached for 2 days or so. Then I cut out the stems and hang in boxes on strings similar to you til it's ready for jars.
That grow was an ebb n flow i was toying with and when the plant was done I just cut the water and figured I'd see what happened. It sucked.
