Lets Talk Bag seeds

Hey growmies.... random thought that popped up and wanted see what yall thoughts were...

So I'm smoking on some black gold (indica hybrid) and I really like it so far! Broke some more down for my morning toke and found some mature seeds!! Mind you it's only like 2 seeds in the bag so far...

I know a few friends of mine who complain about getting seeds and I understand why it would be annoying. However in my case, I got excited and then it hit me... lmao maybe it's just me or maybe it could be a growers thing to get excited about free seeds.
I know it's a 50/50 chance it could be female but still I don't know why I got Hella excited ...

My first few grows we’re using bag seed lol.

I know nothing of the odds scientifically speaking of male to female ratio on the seed factor but i like to think this is somewhat relevant: It only takes one male to pollinate x amount of females, thus the odds for survival would require less males and more females. Also yeah out of like 30 bag seeds popped all fem*touch wood lol..

https://www.rollitup.org/t/first-grow-ever.1057231/ this is my first garden atm but im getting trigger happy and snipping a couple of testers out of anticipation/lack of will power/desperation of no smoke and not wanting to pay $200 for a 1/2 that's crap...if anyone would mind swinging by and convincing me im perhaps only waiting for the calyxes to swell/trichs to change? XD

Yea i noticed one of my current girls has formed a couple seeds but somehow from what i can see it's stopped growing seeds....o_O nor has it affected the others *makes love to wood

I just platened some bag seeds. Who doesn't love free seeds. However I'm totally new to this so happy to practice with free seeds.

I started with bag seed, as most have. Plus it was a time when you couldn't acquire seeds easily or without CC being tied to your name. Then came legalization and cryptocurrency. So now almost everyone can pretty much reliably buy seeds.

Ive had mixed success with my random beans, but have always gotten at least 1 female out of 6. Some herm'd and other blatant males. Never knew the strains, had no idea if it was sativa or indica dom untill about 1/2 way through.

Looking back man, those were actually the best times. I used to get soo excited when I came across seeds from a great batch of bud. And when you used to peek into your grow space with pure joy at that lovely lady. Then patiently waiting for the dry and cure. The good days.
Now it feels like a chore sometimes. :weed:

No one has pointed out the most important things to think about in this situation. Is it a named strain like in the original post, or is it just some outdoor grown bud. If u wanna grow seeds found in outdoor bud they should be viable. If they are in a bag of something that's grown indoors then most likely they are made from a herme plant and your not getting the best genetics.

True, but unless you know the grower, or gotten from a dispensary. How often does your plug know where his weed is coming from and how it was grown? Hell, sometimes you couldn't even trust the names. I don't know how many times Ive gotten "pineapple express" and they've all looked differently.

I will add/ admit, times have changed and it seams everyone is now a "connoisseur". I'm from a time when there were two options, Mids and KB. Didn't give a rats ass what strain it was.

Its a mixed thing imo it can be good or bad but look at it this way how many of the most popular strains from usa were from bagseed ogkush the chems and god knows how many others you could get good shit you could get hermies could go either way theres alot of factors to consider
