Lets learn about soilless mixes!

OK I'm relatively new to indoor growing and I started with a dwc system. Its OK now that I have it figured out but it's still a lot of work with Res changes and what not. Any way I'm thinking about going soilless for multiple reasons one of the biggest it the use of beni's and to get a little more personal with them by hand watering But I can't find any good info on soilless mixes either organic or in organic. And I'm not really into mixing my own. Does anybody have any good info or know of an informative site I can go to? Thanks guys

pretty much any soiless mix from ur hydro store will be good

personally i look for smth that has perlite in it and i want to know the E.C./NPK so I know how long to wait before i start feeding

ive used a few products and found cana to be ok, i prefer plagron batmix at the moment, it has white peat, black peat, fibrous peat, perlite, worm manure,Bat Guano. and i use organic slow realses tabs called guirilla tabs that have Beneficial rhizo bacteria in them then I just water with plain tap water(that is bubbled overnight for the chlorine to dissipate)

and if needed i do have a bottle of some flower nutrients that ive only used once in 2 years

i dunno if those products are available in wherever u are but you can google them and take a look at what in em and find smth similar

or you could just go with 100% coco, seen as you have the equipment from the DWC like pumps and res ect id consider a simple coco flood and drain or blumat in coco

Promix @ Menard's or home depot is half the price of grow stores..sometimes more than half

I get the 4 cu ft bags of Sunshine #4 at Home Depot for $24ish and a $7 bag of Perlite, that does about 10 5gal pots I think. I've also recently started adding Dr. Earth's rooting booster to the media, it's a nice benny pre-mix.

Thanx wacker, yeah I lookinn for reviews on brandname stuff peoples experiences. It surprises me how hard it is to find info on it. I came across a recipe ( I know I said I didn't wanna mix) it seemed real easy and cheap, it was coco coir brix for like 5$ and vermiculite like 8$ it makes Suppoosedly makes 10 gallons. has anyone tried this. My other ? Is could I use organic nutes and beneficial bacteria and fungus in a mix like that or any soilless mix really. Or is that strictly for soil.

Just want to show my girls off lol. I'm proud it's my first indoor grow and with hydro ever. The kicker is there blueberry kush! What! I was a lil nervous but I'm glad I did bk is beyond rare where Im at. Any way those buckets take up so much space that's why I'm wanting to change. Some pillow cases, soilless mix, and a watering can. I think I could grow some real donkey dicks then

They look nice, good job For the best hormone distribution you should think about getting the main top lower than the shoots though. That will redistribute the auxins to the lower growth making them grow like tops..Tying the lowers without the top makes them sad lol...

I agree with guy. If you look at scrog sog mainline techniques they all try to get the tops the same level You are doing the opposite. I understand your thinking trying to make it wider but it all starts with tying down that main cola. It doesnt have to be symetrical. You can just pull it all to one side. Experiment. Have fun

you could do that mix and use beanies and fungus ect
the biotabs i use are suitable for coco so i cant see any issues there with another brand, im not sure how usefull the vermiculite will be though, id prob just use coco brix
if u are organically inclined you could mix in worm castings and bat guano and whatever poo poo you wanna use as well as the bacteria stuffs

then u could hand feed teas and what nots, sounds like a plan, although I have never used 100% coco, you will have to look into its PH requirements, from memory there is smth to know about that

to prepare the mix:

• 60% Coco
• 20% Perlite
• 20% Vermicompost

this looks good to me, the guy starts feeding after seedling/clone

the vermicompost ( worm castings) is very easy to use and starts ur bacteria right away

Right on thannx guys. Yeah I swear I had her tied lol. But I tried some suppercroping I think it's called and split the stalk so I'm trying to let her heal before I start putting pressure back on it. Bit thank for the advice I'm trying to learn as much as possible.

I've used ROOTS ORGANIC SOILESS from Aurora, and had GREAT success. I still keep my mother's in 15 gal pots of it. No need to add anything other than nutes and plants.
