image.jpeg image.jpeg So. I spotted this fan on the side of the road sitting on top of a cooking stove/range. It is dirty and nasty as hell. The hole for the ducting is approx 6" across. I'm thinking it uses 6" duct.

I cannot find any identifying numbers. It has a small squarish female plug that has 4 connectors. 1 prong is larger than the others. I might even have one of those laying around somewhere.

I plan to take it apart, as much as I can and do a good cleaning. Since it was used in a stove, I assume there will be some greasy sludge build up. There is a lot of dusty grime and crap in the fan too. That itself will be a real chore. Is it even worth it?

So. Do you guys think a regular 6" charcoal filter off the shelf would work with this? You know, a 30.65 ounce coffee can fits over the ducting hole perfectly. Should I DIY my own filter? Hmm.

So what to do? Which are the hot wires on the 4 prong connector? Does 4 prongs mean it could have more than 1 fan speed? Is it 220? I assume the stove was. That could actually be s problem since I don't really want to run wire for 220. If it is, is it possible to mod it for 120? What cleaner would work best? Any idea about where the part number may be? Any idea about CFM? I'm being lazy today, but may start this project tomorrow.

Come on guys. We all like to Frankenstein shit. LETS DO THIS!. No ideas are too stupid for this thread. I'm stoned so. I don't care.

I have only been growing for 3 years and am no expert but how reliable could a used blower of unknown history be? do you really want to risk your crop on a blower someone else thru out?

I saw all the arguing at the bottom of the page. I'm. Not even gonna read it because yes use it and yes the store filters work. I use a lint capture vent from a dryer it's only has 1 hole into it and vents to diapers the hot air outaide. (idk you do something with water and it disolvs the lint. N e wayzzz, I cut a hole in the bottom and blocked the airholes and ran a 6" dryer hose outside. And in the canister I put about 17 ring shaped cut outs from a charcole filter from publix just cut out the circles and stack them and you have a multi layerd inline charcoal system. (because of the thick Ness of the filter you really need to stack them for it to take the smell away) I did have to play with a few port holes because too many punchouts will clog the system. I had to find a happy medium. I just liked larger holes in the filters to port air faster. Oh also I have a inline fan drawing the air from my grow space.

Beautiful man! You're a pure kind heart! Actually I don't think fire is a concern once I clean it up. I mean UL listed, it was a nice stove.

Really I'm just killing time cause I'm a little bored. And wanna do something with this thing on the cheap. I really don't need it. But, I'll probably buy a filter if I get it running Hopefully it can be set up for 120 if not already. I honestly don't know. Either way I really ain't out nothing.

But thanks so much man for your kindness and generosity! Peace and love back at ya and I'll bet you'll have no problems getting rid of those fans.
no problem,I'm not really selling extra gear I've collected a lot & stored a lot in case of emergency's,that's what I thought you had was an emergency fan blow out & had to come up with something .

as a project it might be fun to clean that thing up & see what it'll do once degreased, years back I used a squrill fan from a furnace to circulate fresh air into canopy & it worked great, now that I think of it I still have that home made furnace fan & need to break it out

So. What is it? Well at the time I was reading about these large setups that had light movers. I was like damn. That's freeking cool. I was also only growing one auto plant at a time. And a friend of mine dropped off this old microwave at my house. It didn't work. I dunno why. I didn't want or need it. But, the little plate turns. Hmm. lol

So I cut the bottom out of the microwave. Built a little frame for it to sit on. And added a plug to the little motor in the center.

It's a plant mover! Hang your light angled and the plant turns to get optimum use of the light!

IT REALLY WORKS! I think I tested it out one night and it's been in the garage ever since. Hard to part with. You know that man gene that stuff that uses electricity AND has a motor just can not be thrown away if it still works.

For like a 2-3 gallon. 5 gallon in wet soil pushes it and it hickups a lot. lol. I'm stoned.

Anyway. Just making fun of my own nooby stuff lol. Good times. :-)

Telling ya they work great I robbed one off of a convection microwave same thing. Out mesh on the inside flange of the fan. Then cut and fill with carbon filter (store bought if need be) and run 2 hose then boom inline filter system. Lol I also used a blow up Santa fan for my grow to boost the a.c. coming from the duct.... Well I was gonna post some pics but my wife deleted them off the phone I'll have to look in my old post to see if I can find it
