you could always witha little DIY experiance run a small pipe like 2inche in diameter through the wall and into something descret like a dresser and set up carbon filter and fan up in the drawers it wont exhaust alot but since u got a small grow it should be sufficent

Well I moved it to the closet now so it is a much bigger space...my question to you all is should an exhaust fan in the room with a hose coming out the door and leave the door cracked or should I run the exhaust fan outside the room into the closet with the door cracked?

Well, you can't necessarily keep the door cracked. When the plants flower they will stink up your entire room AND they also require 12 hours of UNINTERRUPTED darkness. Any leak of light into the grow room at this time increases your chance of growing self-pollinated transvestite plants known as Hermaphrodites. You DO NOT want hermaphroditic plants, trust me. They are a combination of both male and female plants and are of little use to any cannabis grower.

My advice is to find some way of venting stale used air out of your closet WITH the door closed. For now you can leave the exhaust fan in the closet and have some duct come out of the door, but try to keep the fan as high up as you expect the plants to grow (hot air rises). However, come flowering you will need to worry about light leaks and odor control, so be creative and be sure to run it by us folks here at RIU to see if we can help you come up with something.

Hope this helps.

just have your intake and exhaust hoses have a 90 degree bend in them this should prevent light from coming in them

OK...

Marijuana goes through four stages in one life cycle (from seed to harvest):

1. Germination
2. Seedling
3. Vegetative
4. Flowering

Since I assume you are already familiar with the germination and seedling stages, you need to know about vegetative growth and flowering, or bud production :)

Vegetative Stage

After your plants have been growing for roughly one week, they graduate from seedling stage to vegetative stage. This stage is when rapid leaf and node (branch) growth occurs. Outdoors, the vegetative stage is march through august. During this season the days are longer and the plants receive 18 hours of light a day. The plant will continue to grow in this fashion until the light cycle changes.

Flowering stage

Once the plants have reached your desired height, you can stimulate them into producing buds by changing the lights to accommodate the shorter days outdoor growers use when planting outdoors. The lights for flowering are 12 hours on and 12 hours off. It is important that the plants do not receive light during the 12 hours of darkness. A plant will go into shock if it suddenly thinks the sun has come out at 2 in the morning!
After the plants have received this light cycle for a few days they will begin to show what sex they are. Marijuana is an interesting plant because it is one of the only plants on earth in which a male marijuana plant looks different than a female marijuana plant. When you plant cannabis, it can either grow into a male or female plant. Male plants do not have bud, but they have sacs of pollen that pollinate female plants. Female plants are the most desirable because they produce bud, which we smoke!!! When you grow female plants and male plants together your female plants will produce buds with seeds and your male plants will not produce anything. When you grow female plants by themselves you get only bud (which is what you want). You can tell if your plant is a male when after a week or so of 12/12 your plant will begin to grow little green sacs at the base of the branches. Once you see it is a male, you have to remove it right away. It may be tempting to leave it in because you took so much time growing it, but it will ruin an otherwise good yield. If the plant is female you will see small white hairs coming from the base of the stem where the branches (nodes) begin.

Once you have removed your males, let the females continue to grow and produce bud until the right time to harvest, usually when all the hairs on the bud have turned brown. Once they are brown do not feed or water them and leave the lights off for two days (my method) then chop them down.

Now if the plants are stressed from either heat or cold or having the lights turn on during 12/12, they run the risk of growing into hermaphrodites. Hermies, as they are usually referred, are a combination of both male and female genitalia. If not removed they will usually pollinate themselves and produce seed in your good bud :(

Plus, in case you didn't know, marijuana plants exhibit a lot of smell, especially when producing buds, so be prepared for that.

As for your exhaust...

Growing marijuana indoors requires that the plants receive fresh air as it uses oxygen in growth. Once it uses that oxygen, it produces carbon dioxide (co2). Now, you use the exhaust fan to vent the stale used air out of the closet to allow the plants to absorb the fresh air coming in.

Now, if you don't have anything for intake, get another fan to bring fresh air from the room into the closet.

Now you need to find a way to let these fans operate while the door is closed because when the plants are producing buds, the door needs to be closed for that whole 12 hours, it can't be opened without risking a shock to the plants. If you shock the plants with light during that time they could turn hermie, and if you read the above post, you dont want that...

do you have a trapdoor to the attic in your closet? Would you be able to drill a hole and have some duct going to your window? Is stealth a concern?

Get back to me.

Don't plants use CO2 and O is the byproduct

yeah, i mixed those two up thanks for pointing it out

Photosynthesis

Co2 + H2O + Light energy = O2 + Carbohydrate + H2O

Does your attic door have hinges or is it just a loose piece of wood that fits over the hole? The reason I ask is I had an idea for how to use your exhaust without opening the closet.

Here's the basic idea (attached)

Its just an idea, let me know if its good for you.

Today I transplanted them into the bigger pots. After that I watered them and then watered them again with some nutes.
