Have 4 clu058-1825 citizens with 80degree glass lenses capable 580 watts but never dared run them that high. 4x4 area. Worked fine last grow but any thoughts on trying without the lenses

You can get some 120° lenses, they are more common. Or the "cups" the white plastic ones I think they throw like 90° . but no lenses or reflectors will cost you some light. You'll lose a lot to just heading places that aren't your plant. I'd look for some that have a wider throw.
 
It appears that you may be referring to some sort of grow light setup for indoor gardening. CLU058-1825 citizens are high-power LED chips, and 80-degree glass lenses are often used to focus the light from the LEDs and direct it toward the plants. Running the lights at 580 watts may be possible, but doing so without the lenses could result in a wider, less focused beam of light that may not be as effective for plant growth.
