Lemon Ice Sativa Dom - First grow in 8 years :)

I've been lurking around here for a while. I figured I should finally sign-up and post a journal in case someone else has run into my issues or is considering trying similar techniques.

I grew several times back in early 2010's, but this is my first grow in 8 years.

I purchased clones from a seller online, but had to drive 300km, each way, to pick em up. Not a far drive or anything. A buddy came with, so it was fun.

They are Lemon Ice, a 70/30 Sativa dom. One of my personal faves.

They were transplanted into 1G ProMix HP on November 6 and put under a 400W MH. They are in 7G airpots now. They've been mainlined, well, as mainlined as a clone can be with nodes that aren't parallel to each other... I've done a lot of LST and some select super cropping, including some super cropping mistakes...

I switched to 12/12 on January 9 under quad LM301H boards, pulling 480W from the wall (only running at around 75% so far as they get used to the increased intensity)

I added a trellis net for support, and to space leaves and tops to encourage shorter branches to catch up, and there's definitely progress. I will consider adding a secondary trellis 8 inches above the first if the stretch warrants it.

I did run into one issue. When I switched to LED, I was able to finally see the damage done to my plants by Thrips. I spent hours looking for them and only found one small yellow unwinged juvenile. I crumbled portions of a mosquito dunk in pro mix and added it to the pots. Watered with a dissolved portion of dunk as well. I topdressed with a small amount of horticultural sand. I treated with a Pyrethin dilution from Doktor Doom, from the 420 series, and plan to twice again over the next week. I havent noticed any burning yet, like some others, but perhaps it could come later. I just try to be conservative, yet thorough, with the spray and do it at the right time. Doktor Doom is made in my city, so I like supporting them, and wanted to try this marijuana specific line.

A pretty smooth grow, even with the thrips. Certainly areas for improvement, but it's just nice to be growing again. My girlfriend has also really gotten into it. We spend quite a bit of time with the tent open, enjoying the breeze, light, a drink, a toke, and the girls (maybe that's how I got thrips lol).

I've added some pics spanning clone to yesterday.

If you have any questions or advice, that would be great.

Thanks!

Here are the girls at Day 16 of 12/12.

Have really put on height, lots of bud sites. Thrips seem to be either gone or under control.

Trichomes arrived a few days and I'm a bit surprised how fast they came with this long flowering sativa dom. Perhaps it was because of how mature they were when they were switched?

Haven't updated in a while.

I noticed their development being more like a Lemon Ice 2.0 (Indica Dom) than Lemon Ice (Sativa Dom). I called the guy I bought the clones from and turns out I was right. I don't know how he mixed them up, but he did. I'll get free clones from him cause of the mixup, but still. I didn't want an Indica Dom.

Plants look ok. Some lockout issues here and there, but overall, not bad. Lots of purpling tones up top, fading nice enough.
