Legitimate Referral by Verifiable Doctor?

Ok, heres the deal. I can't afford for my MMJ license defense to not hold up in court should I ever be charged for growing marijuana in my home. The whole POINT of getting a license is to prevent legal prosecution so I want to know the piece of paper I'm paying for is legit. I feel like there has been a rush of people opening dispensaries and not all of them are being legally regulated there I am skeptical on who I am approaching in helping me obtain my license. I have read up on the rcw's and it seems like there is a REAL grey area in which I fall into (CHRONIC PAIN). However, I feel like since my symptoms are due to a severe knee/back injury a number of years ago and I've really just self medicated with pot since. Therefore, I have no medical documentation saying that I've had chronic pain. I'm thinking this would mess me over if there was ever a doubt in the validity of my MMJ license, and that is only IF the license provider is FULLY LEGIT. Therefore I ask, will any truely legit doctor (are ANY mmj reffering docs truely legit??) actually refer me for mmj when there is no documented proof in my medical records that I am in pain? I am an idiot for not just going to the doctor and complaining about the pain I just dont like pain pills or the hassle of refilling/doc visits paying for all that..... plus its just not as fun as smoking weed. SO
_are there any legit docs the diagnose for chronic pain, HOW do i verify THEY are legit?
_I priced a place @ $150 for one year and 100 renewal after that. Do all require a renewal?
_Am I being lured into a false sense of security with this license business and am I still gonna get it and get arrested and convicted and lose my kid despite having one?

ive read up on it and I just wanna know. I don't think I have a documented "debilitating illness" they talk about. Yes I have pain. No, i do not want to take pain killers because: they kill my appetite, and I end up abusing them, feel like shit.... act like an asshole, etc. I am thinking I am gonna just start NOW going to my doctor while I still have health insurance and getting prescribed pain killers then going back and complaining about the prescriptions making me feel like shit THEN request my medical records (have MRI's of my knee surgery) and this in combination with my recent pain issues should be enough? I've been reading up on mmj case defense in wa (http://www.safeaccessnow.org/article.php?id=3931) It says if I have documented proof ive tried treatment and it doesn't work. The pain clause is a "catch all". But heres one MORE thing, what if you already have a criminal history? it shouldnt matter, .... since its REALLY old. but you know how judges are. I just cant go to jail for this shit, I use mmj and want to do it legally I am tired of worrying about police

Shouldn't be an issue bro. If you have documents that prove you have an issue that gives you chronic pain, then request your medical records from your doctors office, Fax them to the clinic. Make sure the clinic knows they are coming, then the CLINIC will tell you if you are approved or not. Every MMJ clinic in Oregon and Washington has a licensed doctor working there that signs off on the medical cards. Most the time the doctor will be licensed in both states sometimes even the whole fricken west coast. It costs 150 for sure and has to be renewed yearly. But that again can be done with the clinic.

My visit to get my card was simply that, faxed the medical papers proving my herniated disc, got approved, went in and payed 150 and had a doc ask me, does it still hurt? yep! ok here ya go. 10 minutes in and out lol.

Is it a "standardized card"?? I've read that it has to be tamper proof paper, but if whats printed ON the card is bullshit what does it matter? HOW do you know the DOCTOR is legit? Im thinking that some guy could obtain some prescription pads.... write some docs name on it and sell em' for 150 a pop. how do I know im not getting took?

You can improve your chances going to a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) over an MD. Naturopathic physicians won't require you to try oxycontin or vicodin, they are not even licensed to prescribe that stuff and those kinds of drugs are outside the Naturopathic healing paradigm. The "conventional" (legal) treatments a Naturopath will prescribe for chronic pain due to back injury will be physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, yoga, massage etc. These may not work but they won't hurt you either (and if you really do have a back problem it's worth trying) , and if they don't work then you and your physician can honestly say conventional methods have failed.
