so i was curious if i could cut them short and try and get them to regrow roots

Regardless I'm planning on doing that when I get home tomorrow anyway... just was hoping to know of people with some success. It sounds like I'm taking a clone but in reality I don't want leggy plants

You need a better light , plant will continue to stretch and stretch until you do. Or at least lower it! Why chop your plants? Transplant to bigger pots and bury the stems deeper , then lower that light or best buy a new one(s). What light are you using anyways?

Well they are under a shity blurple light at 12 inches away. They popped out and stretched like that under my sf4000 at 36 inches away. They been under that blurple light for 2 weeks and won't stop. My next pot size will not accommodate the long stems unless I coil it. Which I'm not going to do.

These are under the sf4000 in same tent. Fans were too strong to put those seedlings next to them. I wasn't turning my fans down.
The seedlings and the 4 little ones all popped the same week. Same light.18382.jpeg

Holy bean stalk batman! I would literally snip the top 8" of the plant and root it all over again. You need a good grow light.

Thanks! That was the plan. I just wanted some more info. They will be going under my sf1000 when I'm done. I plan on scrapping the blurple light. Ive hated it since day one.

Why does red light make plants grow?

Red light promotes flowering. However, it also encourages vertical plant growth. Too much red at the wrong time will cause your plants to stretch, which results in lower yields and lanky, unstable plants. Blue light is your secret weapon for amping up the concentration of oils and resin.

Clone the entire plant and get you some 6500k CFL bulbs. 4 of them about 6 inches from the top of the new cuts should do you some good.

Thanks! I plan on looking for some supplemental uv light.

I know. I have a spider farmer too and love it.. but you need those blues to get them back on track. a 3 pack of bulbs is like $10. Nothing fancy.
And to be completely honest I haven't looked into cfls. So they do good for the seedling stage? I'm looking into a small tent to do seedlings and clones. How long should i keep them under the CFLs?

Just until they get a few more branches growing and more leaves. Spider farmer spits out a ton of light but the plant needs leaves in order to absorb it all. So I wouldn’t go from seed under such a strong light. Just paranoid lol
