LED's vs HPS

I'm a new grower looking into the purchase of a Supernova Enhanced Spectrum however I haven't heard of or seen any reviews about it. I've seen forums and the like about LED's but was curious if anyone's experimented with this particular model. Any advice would be appreciated.

the leds will cost way more in many differant way
1 a 600w led can not even do what a 600w hps does
(maybe 1/4,, meaning if you get a pound form a hps you will only get a 4oz from the led of the same watts, strains, and grow room setups)
2 cfls do the same thing as led and they are way cheaper
3 you can fit way more plants under a 600 w hps then you can a 600w led

led's are total hype dont drink the cool'ad

LED's are fantastic if you get a good one. If you get one of the crappy ones that output .03 watts per bulb...yeah you're wasting your money....

even the 5w bulbs are crappy

I've only ever heard they can be good for young plants and even veg, but that they are hardly any good for flowering
Are there any good comparison grows between 'good' and 'bad' LEDs? Or the best LEDs vs HPS?

The only problem with Leds is the technology is too expensive. i happen to have two supernova leds enhanced spectrum(enhanced spectrum means it has UV emitter bulbs as well) but i didnt pay over a grand for each i kept an eye out on craigslist and picked them up for 140 bux a piece guess i got lucky but i had them for my first grow and i messed up from day one with the seeds i had them under a t8 to sprout and they elongated to over 6 inches in less then 2 days i buried them in a gallon pot and now 5 weeks later this is what has come from it

also forgot to add that with the enhanced spectrum you have to play with the light to get it just right for veg since im a noob i had it all the way over to the blue and barely got any growth for over a week so 2 and a half weeks into my first ever grow i had no growth just first set of 3 leaves thats it so the plants were severely stressed but once i changed the spectrum to get that purple hue within 3 days i had my first true node and 2nd was popping up and after 3 weeks of that stress i managed to come out on top. i dont have any recent pics ill get some up but it has been 6 weeks(one week since these pics were taken) and they are all already over a foot tall after all the stress but you wont find an HPS or MH that has put the growth on the plants like a PROPER LED setup has you guys can see once i get my pictures up tonight of what craziness im talkin about its a bush and i havent topped it or anything because the radiant light from high output leds penetrates the canopy UNLIKE MH or HPS and the only other light that does that is a t5 HO. DO RESEARCH ONLINE NASA HAS PUT OUT A REPORT ON LED GROWING AND THEY HAVE VERY DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO ACHIEVE POSITIVE RESULTS!!!

I have yet to be impressed by an LED grow, at the moment MH and HPS are the standards people go by. But I think the future light may be PLASMA.

So lets total that. I come up with $555 , dunno where you're shopping but maybe you're getting gouged. The added cost is more than made up for in quantity and quality.

prolly grow 2 plants 4 oz a peice with one and my bud uses led and everythime he comes through with jar
to smk ITS FUCKIN BOMB so i tried this out borrowed a 24 wt one plant led pannel from him
and lets just say im a beliver now its just one of those things you find out on your own

I laughed pretty hard when I read that. Haha Rotary ftl.
As far as Led's go, I grew a plant last year under a 28w sunshine systems LED panel and was impressed with the quality of the end product but not how long it took. I used bag seed but my buds were so dense that you could squeez them between two fingers and they would barely compress. I used only LED through Veg and Flowering and had slow growth but good growth. I think if I had 400w (actual wattage) of LED, I would be able to definetely compete with a hps. The only problem is, in order to get 400w of LED, you are lookin at $2100 just for lights. They are very good if you are doing a small 1 plant closet grow because they put off very little heat, they can be touching the plants and the lights themselves take up very little space. My next grow will be a t5/hps grow but I will still be keeping the led on the entire time. I like the idea of LED power but I hope that it can become cheaper and more powerful before I spend a whole lot more money on it.

To sum it all up:
Buy an LED board if you want to grow one plant in your closet (worked great for me). Buy a MH or t5/hps setup if you want to grow a few plants. It will make the process much faster.

Wtf is all this about LED.

everyone is so biased about lights lol its like religion everyone will have their own opinion on the matter and for me personally LED is is my best option unless i went CFL i have a small discreet area and i cant be worrying about heat dispersion from a damn HPS or MH plus remember i only paid 140 for a 1200 dollar light so its hard to argue with that. now im all for trying new things but MH and HPS are old technology where as LED,PLASMA and T5 HO's are the new guys on the block its only a matter of time before people start using these as more efficient means of growing cause there is just too much to go into with MH and HPS the only issue is since its new technology its expensive just like whenever something new comes out its always more expensive right off the bat but im sure as soon as its more affordable people arent gonna be scoffing at the idea, thats the problem with people no one likes change everyone likes things to stay exactly the way they are but there is more of a movement towards new tech now cause more and more people are experiencing the benefits of it it just takes time thats all

Oh lets get around all that, I'm sorry. your buds look ok even if you did have to spend a small fortune on all those panels.
Now I see you mention aeroponics, is that true aeroponics?
