LEDs In the closet (Romulan Bx1) and (Chernobyl x Peach Ringz)

Haven't grown in years. Maybe 6+. Well not anything I didn't put outside. So I got some beans I was kinda excited about Romulan Bx1 Had this way back and remembering how much I liked Romulan. Just very good smoke and the taste is awesome. I always thought subcool was the holder of the Romulan and that shows how long it's been since I've been back into things. Lol. I ordered seeds from a company that will remain nameless for years and the last few times the germination rate was terrible and they never compensated fully and assumed I have never grown in my life...or started a seed I guess..anywho..I got these from a pal and he let me get some of his own from Blackbird preservations.
Assuming I remember how to do it and it's starting slower than I thought dealing with temps in the MW of the US. Warm one day, next day it's 20 F and that can go either way at any time. Lol. I'm gonna have to much light for my space. (L.W.H) 32"x48"x72" give or take. Successfully popping 4/6 of the Romulan and 4/8 of the CxPR. 1/5 bubba kush feminized (Last Seedbank which will stay nameless)
I usually run DWC in 5 gallon buckets 2-3 in that space and its perfect. Fills canopy so fast if I'm lucky and locked in. Having photos I'm gonna wait to run the Roms or CPR in DWC because I don't want to have to swap buckets to swap buckets to swap buckets when they show sex. Waiting for more ff soil to come in as I ran out of soil. I never grow in soil unless it's outside so I'm a bit nervous. I've already seen a fungal gnat buzzing in the closet and that's not a good sign.
Lights are a mixture of LED that I put together when building tech was cool. Lol. I still think it is and bought a couple things to make sure I have more than enough light as I think out more in than what I already have. (Pictured) Cxb3590 powered at 1200 MA 50 watts. The quantum board Amazon special (not sure what the Chinese brand name) 100 watts. Vero 29 @ 1500 MA 60 watts. Mixed spectrum for sure and any input as far as positions of said lights are always welcome but with the closet I'm limited to hanging in certain spots. I have 4 Vero 29s and pinned heatsinks that I can add to the total if and when I need to. Which should be soon. I'm thinking maybe just one or two of these will make it overkill and if I use 4 it's just like...why? Lol. I'm very indecisive when it comes to tweaking stuff so I'm gonna try to make a decision and stick with it. Lol. Like that ever happened.
I just wanted to post this for anyone interested in the Romulan Bx1 and these freebies I got from Blackbird preservations. I have found little to no info on the Romulan genetics website and when I asked they pointed me to the page I had already looked at with no pictures and showing what to expect when growing. Generic short answered like- medium to large indoor harvest. That's it..so I guess we will see. One of the Romulans look like it's turning into a mutant and it's..weird. So it might not make it. The picture shows how my lights are setup and hung. Right now I'm only using the QB and the 3590 (3500k). Im going to turn off the 3590 and turn on the Vero 29 (5000k I believe) Don't think I need the entire closet lit up until it starts to fill. I'm not sure how far away I should hang my stuff as I have no meter and I used to just guess and see how it played. I find that seedling and early veg takes some time to really love LED light and I can't even begin to explain why but I always had better luck associating CFLs with LED and this time I didn't do that. Maybe why it's moving slower than I remember. Also I can't wait to just see what these are so I can flip to dwc buckets but if I get more females than expected I'll run the soil as well. Why not.

When do photos start to show? These are finally taking off and I have to say I'm not used to grow bags but I can see the appeal for sure.

Anyone ever ran these strains at all? Any inside info would be appreciated. I think I'll put the bubba kush into a diy cloner thing I made if and when it starts to grow since it's a feminized seed and I won't have to worry about wasting time with pulling it. But then it messes up the height of my canopy..lol. Hate using stilts to put plants on. It always ends badly for one or more of the plants I involve with it. Lol. I'll keep posting progress as it develops. Thanks

Have you grown with leds before? Its a good idea to run slightly higher temps than HID and the like. You should always see leaves stretching out/good transpiration in order to keep the plant sufficiently fed to keep up with the light.

Yeah my best grows were under LEDs but I find the taking off process begins a bit slow. I have a CFL light I got from HTG aggeess ago and it rocks. Generates enough heat to keep things pleasant and the plants love CFL. My RH is also at like 36% with temps at 63-73F. Ordered a levoit humidifier from Amazon to get the RH where it needs to be.
This is another odd thing for me. RH is way low. When I do DWC I have 2 or 3 buckets in the closet and my RH is perfect all the time. I just got my test kits in the mail and I'm contemplating..with most things I overthink but after mixing sone stronger solution up the plants are peeking up and I think with the humidifier we will be right where we want. I'll keep ya posted.

Remember you can mix lighting to get the best of both worlds

So my soil came in. I got ocean forest this time and put 2 more in bags. The bubba kush feminized and another CPR. Trying to get one of the CPR to hydro and it's not looking great...but roots are finally exposed so that's when they take off in my experience. This guy's came in today..

It's a however you pronounce it hydro thing. Lol. I'm going to turn it into a cloner. The video below shows it working. Got veg, flower LED light. Which won't be used much TBH and this awesome reservoir. Picked it up for 29 free shipping on eBay. I'll probably just put airstones in it instead of the pump. It's pretty cool how it's setup to pump water to 12 spots with just a lid. I used to have cloners I made but I tossed em with all the other stuff you accumulate with hydro or just growing in general. I thought 20 bucks was a good find and will work as exactly what I need. Won't have to use 5 gal buckets to switch plants from soil to hydro. We will just take clones and speed up the process and not have to lug millions of gallons of water. I switch my water everyday after I transplant to hydroton. No matter how much you rinse there's still gonna be leftovers that mess up your pH for awhile. My back will thank me.
Ill keep posting updates. Chopping 5 samples for farmers freeman for tomorrow. When I figure that out we can take more steps. Other than that I wait.
