LED UFO - Lighthouse Hydro 90w 2010 6-band HO UFO Model

Great thread although it ended abruptly! How did it end up going?

And Endofwed, no I don't think they'd work because they're white LED's. The whole point of LED's is that they target specific red and blue wavelengths.

curious to see if anyone has tried these from lighthouse? Its their blackstar brand price isnt bad at 260 either for a 240w led, I cant afford the kind of venting i need to run the hps i have so i gotta switch to cfl or somthing like this and it seems from the research i have done that lighthouse is working pretty well so just wanted to see if anyone had tried this specific one.

The last that really bugs me is that the title claims UV and IR. Nowhere in the information do they list a wavelength that is Infra-red. 660nm is not close to being Infra-red. Perhaps the white leds produce a small amount of light approaching 700nm but this is not stated. I'm sure this is one of the best LED lights for veg growth but if i'm gonna put that much money into a light system its might as well produce the appropriate amount of 'flower-power'. Flowering plants need a certain amount of far-red/near-IR to get the signal to switch for flower production. This Q/A addresses this perfectly. http://www.cannabisculture.com/v2/articles/4576.html
To wrap this up the light from gotham_products seems to be one of the best LED systems i've seen yet, but as others have said... the proprietors seem rather shady. I have to question whether one will recieve what is promised... i sure hope so. If anyone has one already or is gonna take the "risk", be sure to let us know how it works out! To be honest, if i could spare the money right now i would try it myself.
My Blackstar listed

Red LED: 660 & 630
Infrared: 730nm
UltraViolet: 380nm
Blue LED: 425nm
Cree White: 12000k

The SOB is blindingly bright - not white light, but still so bright it makes everything dark after looking into the cab.

I'm loving it. I may have to move it to a larger cab. It's first run is in a 12"x18" x 30" tall cab.

I wouldn't call them shady. I had good customer service. My questions were answered personally and completely. When I opened the box I was impressed by the good workmanship of the light. When I plugged it in I was impressed by my wife --who had her back to me and the light- screaming, "Shut it off, its too damn bright!"

I have been using LED grow light for my hot pepper plants which i started from seed under it, and they are now flowering just weeks after planting.
