LED too powerful ?

LONG VERSION : I posted a few months ago on her basically explaining I have been growing for 5/6 years. I started with a cheap Chinese light but quickly upgraded to a “ good light “. (I don’t want to mention the manufacturer). ALL my grows seemed to dry and wilt about five weeks into flower. Like clockwork ! It didn’t matter what I grew in , what nutes I used ,
Etc. My temps and humidity are spot on. Various strains ( 35/40) . I ruled out everything except for this new light I purchased. The light is a well known light and somewhat expensive so I assumed it was a good light. A few months ago the same thing happened ( week five of flower it was drying up ) so I called the manufacturer. I told him I have the light 24” from the canopy and he immediately said you have to be much higher although the light specs says 18”-24” in flower. I should have pressed the issue and ask why they recommend that height if it will burn your plants but I was so excited that I finally figured out my issue. I’m week five/six of flower and the light is 50” inches from the top of the canopy and the leaves are once again drying up ( starts with the tips ). I’ve looked everywhere for answers but I cannot seem to find anyone else that has this issue.
SHORT VERSION : The manufacturer advertises 18”-24” above the canopy and when I called they recommend I put the light as far as I can from the canopy. I know have it at 50” and the leaves are beginning to burn. I’m anal with nutes , PH , watering , etc. It has to be the light. I never knew an LED could do that ?

too much light can raise all kinds of problems without CO2 and proper feeding. if you don't have some kind of light meter you are going to play the game of raising and lowering the light until the plants respond positively.

Sounds like you got it figured out. Get a new light.

Are you guys saying that a light could be a 50” and still burn the plant ? Herb and Suds, did you read my post. It’s a simple question. Can I light be too powerful?

Especially with it happening every time at week 5 flowering. Lockout from nutes I would think.

Sounds like nutrient lockout, especially at 5 weeks into flower. What grow media, nutes, etc?

I have tried coco, pro mix , foxfarm , Advanced Nutrients , Flor nova , PH / PPM is always checked. Temps / humidity dialed in as well.

What is your runoff like when this happens? Ppms / pH?

It's not a light issue......it's a deficiency, probably a micro-nutrient. Intense light will only make things worse faster, so don't try to push the plants until they seem to be doing better.

DEFINITELY NOT from light …..

Question : What was the purpose of Saran wrapping an air pot … a pot designed to “ prune “ roots by design. ?

If it was to “ water / saturate “ then you probably should have watered slow and even ( hydrophobic soil ).

So from pics , looks heavily overwatered , excess nitrogen, locked out deficiency and root issues.

Stagnant water doesn’t help … bugs like that.

I put that wrap on to transport to reduce a mess . I never had a bug problem and I usually vacuumed out the stagnant water. That grow was in coco so I watered everyday. I was using AN coco formula and didn’t add anything additional other than some of there additional products ( bud igniter , overdrive , and a few other on occasion but always followed directions. I’ve tried a lot of different combinations and prior to my NEW light they were fine , just airy.
