That explains the heat a lot. In a small space I needed to move way more air than I wanted too..it kept getting hotter and hotter.

I opened it up a few times..the fans blow onto the middle smaller diodes and some of the air is channelled with heatsink fins over the multichip units. I wished they had gave each big chip it's own fan.

Perfect case for 4 cxa 3070/3590's or in your case 8. Dedicated CPU cooler over each one...Something to keep in mind if you ever feel like upgrading...

Bottom line...enjoy it..it was hella bright!

Ya it is bright when turnt up, If it'll pull a unit of indo under a 4x4 screen im chillll.. gonna def leave it the way it is till I have an issue with its performance, being that i'm only 12 days in I can't pass any judgements

It's a document put together by a gentleman from NASA. It says NASA Ames Research right next to where you saw it say University of Alaska. The document even shows pictures of apache LEDs being used.

The videos also show Apache LEDs being used/tested in NASA research facilities.

That's enough proof for me. Where is the proof that says otherwise?

NASA is listed as one of their featured clients. So is Stanford. Do you doubt that too my brother?

I'm all for everyone making their own conclusions about the matter. It's good to be skeptical of things. I don't know that all of NASA's research is publicly available on the web or how to access it. I found more evidence supporting Apache's position by doing a two minute Google search than anyone doubtful has provided showing otherwise. I think its up to someone to now prove that apache's connection to NASA is falsified.

they ma not be using apaches currently in space. Idk. the panel doesnt look like an apache. it could be custom but they dont say what kind of panel

Don't know what to tell you dawg...they worked with nasa and if you don't believe them/me/anyone else, then CALL APACHE and CALL THEM OUT...no one has ever stopped you from calling the source that's claiming it...but you seem to avoid it. Your an undisclosed email form an undisclosed source is great btw...should blow AT's credibility to smithereens.
I gave you the info for the man(greg) that was more or less the head of the apache dealing with nasa...and you didn't contact him. Who did you contact in that you believe enough to start calling other people name...cause no other company was brought into this little tiss?

They work with nasa ames in mountain view CA...

Did they design for and work with nasa...yes
Is apache the only led that nasa is working with...no
Is there more than one nasa ames center...yes
did you reveal your sources for trying to discredit AT...no
 
Seems from the video that they have worked with NASA.why would they make it up...? It's a lot of effort and potential credibility lost if they were to claim something like that for it to be total bullshit..... I wont be 100% convinced till I see it taking off in a space shuttle from Cape Canaveral though
 
Nasa lately are doing all kinda of things aside from plants in space . their new Orion unmanned space craft going to asteroids and mars. Their new solar observatory. The climate change studies at the ice bridge. New radar they developed. All kinds of more things.

Sorry.. just wanted to vent my excitement forward someone that doubted me. It was kind of relevant as i 'thought' a cheap chinese light at the same wattage wouldn't produce the same result.
