thanks man, yeah im reading more about the setups guess i'll go grab the air pumps and water pump tomorrow and some sort of tray or another rubbermaid. the space im working with is kinda small so i'll figure something out I hope. sorry for all the questions but a setup with a couple cfl for vegging and would a 250 hps be straight for flowering or would i need a 400? probably depends on how many plants. I guess get back to me if you end up reading this. Also, I live in the states so im not sure if theres any grow shops around here but i guess i could hit up home depot. I dont know why im so paranoid about the whole utility cost but im sure everyone is.

Read up on what system you want to use before you go buy trays, air pumps, water pumps, and rubermaids. Hempy buckets are a simple, easy, and cheap alternative. The growth you can get from them are explosive, and it's easy for people who just started growing indoors, those new to hydro, as well as old timers. As far as lights go, home depot will probably only cary a 70w hps light. If you are lucky then a 150w. Go to HTGsupply.com and look at what they have. You can get a 250w HPS for fairly cheap. In response to the wattage that you need, if heat is going to be an issue, go with a 250w. If you don't think heat will be an issue (I'm assuming that you have a small space, without a very large exhaust fan, so heat will probably be an issue) then go with a 400w. Its better than a 250w obviously, but isn't really worth the risk of burning down your house, if you know what I mean.

Please, please, please ..... READ MORE BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! I don't want you to end up with even more stuff that costs you money that you don't need. I know it's exciting, but it's worth the wait, trust me.

I have extensive experience with LEDs, both 5mm arrays and high power arrays, with up to 15 watt LEDs. They suck for flowering and are a waste of time and money at this point in technology. Perhaps in 5 years when the quantum efficiency is greater but there just not ready for prime time.
