Please post any and all info/pics/reviews/questions, and opinions.

I have been looking into the Procyon cree xlamp 100 watt. It looks promising for veg growth---what do you think?

i think its a waste of money.
not to mention why would you want to spend all that money on a light thats only good for vegging???

why not get an HID setup thats good through the entire process. much more cost effective. then you can spend the left over money on weed till your plant flowers or nutes or something more beneficial to yourself or your grow.

If you could save 75% on your electrical usage, at the same cost as a HPS/MH with little or no heat and still get the results your looking for...would that interest you?

if it was the same cost as an hps/mh setup and i could use it effectively (it worked just as good) through my entire grow then sure. but they arent the same cost as a MH/HPS setup right now.

LED's are a joke. Those panel led's make me laugh even harder. Theyre all completely worthless and a waste of time and money. Heres a fine example of an led harvest.

It would be nice if they did grow comparable to HPS/MH but they simply don't. CFL's and t5's and other flouros are better than LED still. If you use LED's be prepared for a harvest that's smaller than the good flouro guys get. Do not trust that video on youtube, I can't say for sure it's doctored but others have not had those results. If they had done an honest comparison next to flouro's the LED would still have lost. Maybe they can harvest better watt for watt, but you'll be lucky if you can grow enough weed to support one person continually unless you use a few of them.

notice that you are like the 100th or 200th person to ask about LED's and I'm sure at least 50 people have tried them, but can you find one single grow journal where someone was happy and successful growing with LED? Just one, on any of the mj related boards? I bet you won't find one, the only ones I've seen have had dissapointed buyers and they have added cfl's or other supplementary light during flower.

Hello I have been doing work with LEDS and at first almost through them against the wall.
1)they do not and will not replace hps for flower
2)The coverage area is small and watt per watt a MH has way better coverage meaning cheaper. watt per sq inch of growable space

so they cost more at first, and in the long run they will use more wattage per sq inch.

useless? hmm maybe not!

Even though they are not the new cheap running growing lights they are hyped to be, they have there specilized purposes for advanced growing in the veggative stage.

Including bushy compact structure
and robustness of flavor terpenes.

you can click on my image and go to see a photo album LED VEG OVEN or go to my thread and fOllow the week by week updates of the LED VEG OVEN

3 WEEKS

ROUND 2 JUST STARTED

MH VS LED SAME STAIN (master kush)CLONEs EQUAL ROOT STRUCTURE AND SIZE AFTER CLONNER

first MH taller lanker

Then LED COMBO shorter bushy

i own two procyons, they arent real new but they are better than some newer panels because of the 3watt diodes... for veg that would do great, for flowering you need more than one.... i just dried and cured almost 6 ounces of led buds out of a 3x3 tent.

I have used l.e.d.'s for somrtime and would do nothing but recommend the use. I have been producing huge buds from seed. The trick is to use T45 are bigger ( blue for veg. Red for bloom) and I promise you that your yelds will be the same. I grow for persanol and I am use to producing up ward of 1lb per plant. I use Houmbolts own line and grow in a tent my veg. is for 3 months and flower a bout 8 to 10 weeks. I grow mostly indica plants but my sativas do fine. I also grow in soil..... Hope this adds to the debate.! Good luck and happy growing evryone.
