LED Lights

Hi all I am considering buying some LED lights. I am pretty well sold on them now. My question is what is the best way to introduce these lights. I have a grow tent that always have some plants in the flowering stage. I don't want to stress the ladies but I want to put the LED lights to use. If I went ahead and changed the lights would that cause my ladies any trouble? I welcome all your advice and I thank you in advance for your words of wisdom.

I'm not sure if I'm catching what you're saying that you "always have some plants in the flowering stage". You can't really have "some" in flowering if it's just one tent. They have to all be vegging or all flowering. From my personal experiences and backed up by consensus, LED's are wonderful for vegging but not so much for flowering unless they are really high powered ones.

Solar Storm 400w is priced at 749$ shipped to your door....personally I think that's the best bet in regards to a light... US made; quality is there, design is sleek, the build is easy and clean.

Most importantly it works like they say it does.

Led users on this site admit the coverage is substandard. my power bill would make you loose your shit. but i saty with my hids. id rather pay what it costs to power lamps that do what i need. replicate sunlight.

sidenot, i might spend 600 and buy and test a plasme. they are supposed to draw 300 w but put out full spectrum light, and 600 w worth of hid light. If it really draws half the energy, and put out the same amount of light as a 600 hid, im sold. i dont care if it costs twice as much. the full spectrum, plus half draw means more lights and better bud. ymmy

I have a closet I use for vegging and a tent for flowering. I run new plants roughly every three weeks so I have plants that has been flowing for 3 weeks, six weeks, and then the new ones. I don't want to change the lights during the flowering cycle if it is going to stress my plants too much. My question is, is there a procedure to replacing types of light so that the plants do not get stressed. I am pretty sure I can put a 600 watt light in there and have it not affect the plants. I am not so sure about LEDs. I apologize if my questions was not so clear and I hope I cleared up any uncertainty.

OK, I got it now. I've never heard of plants being stressed from changing lights. Maybe someone else has.

I would be one to disagree with your statement. It all depends on the LED you buy. I have an LED that covers a huge area, it can easily fit 3-4 plants under it and I am having excellent turnout. Now if you have a shitty little ufo LED then I can see that being true.

Maybe it would cause a little stress at first but they would acclimate themselves to the new light. If you're looking into lights go check out Area 51 lighting, they've come out with a new series of lights.

I Switched My LED Lights Out For An HPS Half Way Through Flowering And My Plants Seemed To Flourish. YMMV

I can fit 9 plants under one of my lights. Are you telling me 4-5 plants a light is good? You just told me leds are substandard by telling me that. and several users ive consulted.admited.their lighs cover.a.much smaller space. ad ill admit, kite posted a kick ass looking led. problem is, its 2500 per light. and it looks cool. i have no comfirmation the thing is worth 100$... ill stick with a light that is a guarenteed winner. like a hid. in use for over 30 years.

the only use i would have for led is to put on a light show. i just bought a massive ac for this summer so, i dont care if my hids run hot. ahhh aircooled hoods and ac. why bother with leds at all.

and power dosent cost shit compared to what you get back. i might look into leds a few years from now once they figure out that tecnology. until then, i will beleive the growers i trust. and anyone i know agrees leds are a huge gamble. in a closet grow, they might be good, but i wouldnt even bother

And fwi, i can get 10 full hid 1000w kits with aircooled hoods for the price of the one light. thats seriously fucked. i wouldnt buy that shit even if it was twice the price of hids. it fosent make sense. if leds did exactly what they advertize, everyonw would ditch hida.

haha yeah still alive, just been having computer problems and its made me massively CBF posting up pictures
either way, no real major growth
the LED looks to be a pile of junk
setting up my 130w CFL and a bunch of smaller CFL's clustered up to make a big screen to shine down on everything :)
im hoping itll work better then the LED i had going. cause the LED only seems strong enough to keep it alive, not promote any new growth past the third leaves :s
Im not a troll, so im not going to search for 1000 different led hate comments. but i ran across this and figured id post it. Ive seen about 100 comments in the last 2 weeks talking about how shitty leds are. ive seen a few about them being "amazing". Until one of these "amazed" growers post a legit side by side of a 1000w hid vs a 1000w equivalant led that shows the led is better. but it cant be a led that costs 10 times the hids price tag.

leds have their place in the world. but not in a dope garden. they just havent reached that point yet
