LED Lighting ?:-)

I was thinking about buying some LED light strips from amazon the rope ones with rubber around them. My thoughts were it would be WAY cheaper than actual LED grow lights and more effective because you can run the lights all the way around and in between the plants basically right by the nodes. And it will save loads of electricity. But my ? Is what color variations should I use for grow and bloom cycles.Once I get this set up I will be doing weekly updates on how it goes Thanks Guys.

you would have too run them right next to the plant in it and stuff the LED's in the strips are not very powerful, ya git what you pay for.

This will most likely give terrible results. I would not do this, if you're worried about heat or cost get a couple 150w cfl of maybe a small t5 fixture..

Sounds sketchy to me... I think you will do much better to just get even a 250W hps, and run a 250W mh lamp for veg, and a 250W hps lamp out of the same fixture during flowering. The technique u r describing just sounds like way too much b.s. for not that much in return, and the wattage of the led's in the strips u r talking about r probably like 1W ea, whereas the led's in say the ufo or the other badass led fixtures r more like 5W ea, and built with spectrum in mind... So, I think you'd be doing yourself and your plants a favor if you just went with a hid like I described, which from the sound of your set up, would probably more than suffice...

if you cheap out when doing LEDs it doesnt work. then you will go around the forum saying how crappy LEDs are. You got to buy growing equipment, not shit you would put in your kitchen to make you counter look cool.
