Hey folks, so I've got a simple question. I'm wanting to start growing with an led light so What wattage is sufficient to grow about 4 plants for a closet grow? I've been thinking about the 1000watt King plus. Thanks!

If you're using older tech diodes like the blurples in the King, I'd plan on 50w/ sq ft of actual power usage. Be aware that older units like the King are no more efficient than a HPS fixture so you will need to get rid of heat in the space. Better diodes give you more light and less heat for each watt used.

What led light would you suggest? Kinda on a bugget right now tho. Anything under 200?

Key word "actual" power usage, not the claim of 1000w. That collection of diodes may be rated to potentially consume 1000w, but the power source inside will not be providing that level.

Why would you want one? Their spectrum sucks, they make more heat than light and you have to replace the lamp every 6 months.

A good quality LED light fixture will pay for itself within a year and you'll be getting better quality results the whole time.
You try to lead a horse to water bruh.. sometimes they would rather drink the hps

Go to this site https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/

Find “Quantum boards” tab
Just buy the borads with the heatsink not the kits

Then go to “ arrow.com” to buy your hlg driver they have free over night shipping. Awesome site!!

I would recommend buying the qb304s or qb324 (which I both have) for flowering and driver I bought for that is hlg320h 1400ma works great.

ya i agree. the cheapest plug and play quality led is omega. I left the link above and he didnt seem too interested. It would cost more to diy. what else can i do?
