[FONT=verdana, geneva, lucida, lucida grande, arial, helvetica, sans-serif]Hi i'm new to all this growing stuff and wanted to start growing a couple of plants myself so have done alot of research for myself into everything especially into making an efficient & cost effective led grow light and just about everywhere i look people give different info ranging from people claiming you cannot grow with them to actual sellers downright lying about all of the grow lights they sell but still wanted some help, first being is infrared needed? some people state it is necessary yet the photosynthesis graphs show little to no absorption of it, ive come up with a list of what colors was going to get mostly being the peaks in photosynthesis blue=420+460nm red=630+660 and come up with these led's that was going to buy and mount on a heatsink with a fan is there any of these led's that would be unnecessary? thanks

thanks for linking me in this direction, i would never have thought of 5050 smd's as a light source maybe i'm over thinking things with needing the specific wavelengths if this grow is so far looking successful with just generic chinese red & blue led strips & this would not require much cooling as apposed to the 1w leds i was planning on buying will look into this more thanks :)
