Bought a led light to try and grow with it, it's a cool white light with 6.5k wavelength.
I've looked up a fair bit about them and i've only came across purple/red mixture led grow lights so it got me thinking if mine is even working? so far i have a little seedling and it looks pretty healthy it's a week old today pictures below of both lights
and seedling.

First time growing btw, tips are welcome

Ive never grown with these mate but even under 1 24w cfl 6400 bulb my seedlings at a week are nearly on there second set of leaves. I would say you need alot more of those lights as they don't look very effective at all for your purpose mate. Good luck

Thanks mate i went out and bought a 20w 6500k cfl i'll leave it for 24 hours and see how it does thanks!

Also do you have any idea why one of the leaves on my plant is curling inwards on the other (the round leaves)

how close is your light? i would think that because its led it wont emit much heat and you could bring it closer to your plant. unless you want tall stringy plants. im just using cfls and they have worked good so far. my plants are small and bushy which is what i want. But my cfl lighting is only 2 inches at most from the top of my plants

I have a heat mat under it, the light doesn't put out any heat really i bought a cfl today, and it only puts out a little more than what the led did. it was around 5-8" away but now it'd be around 3

uhhh.... im not saying you can or cant... but you can grow basicly with anything i mean weed is a very resiliant plant... it will grow in the shittiest conditions... but if you want good lush bud... then your going to have to have alot more than just that one light... and you can try growing with it.. i mean hell why not. just see how it goes. i would deffinatly put it really close to the plant... if you cant feel any heat off of it then i would put it like half an inch or more because its just that one light... and if its not hot. i dont see why you couldnt put it that close

Don't know how your finances are but there are leds out there made for growing, not very expensive, and fit the standard socket. Don't think you'll get much benefit from these lights as the plant gets bigger, but they don't cost much so maybe you could use multiples. But it might do better for starting than what you are currently using.

Take a look on ebay/amazon. there are multitudes of different wattages and spectrums. best of luck

Im not after the best weed just trying to see how everything gows with some shitty bush weed lol it's just a seed i picked up experimenting before i use a good seed. I've already swapped that led out with a 20w 6.5k so we'll see how that goes thank you very much for your comment. also do you think the reason one of the round leaves is curling is because there is not enough light? when i had the led in there i had it pretty far away abou 5" which is pretty far for such a small watt plant

Im not really sure about the curling because i dont know much about plant problems... this is only my first indoor grow.. ive grown outside before.. but never indoor... it could be from not enough light...but the stretch is from that... so idk... im sure someone on this site knows something about what it could be.. just ask around. and that cfl will probably do better than the LED
