LED Grow Lights: Separating Fact from Fiction

kessil h150's will cover a 2x2 ft area easily 4x4 is done with 2 lights and so on etc. Blackstar also is an excellent led panel to check out affordable and uses cree 1w and 3w led's depending on the model u get. Good ol american parts. Footprint on the 240w panel which is about 500w of HPS (yes i know this for a fact it blows my 400w hps out the water and isnt quite on par with my friends 600w hps but its close) The kessil lights are the shit, I am planning on using 2 magneta h150s and a blackstar 240w panel above a single waterfarm with scroged back plant. Now that setup is way overkill for the 2x3 area i am going to run it in all you need is the 240w blackstar and you can pull down at least a half an elbow if you know what your doing, also depends on genetics. The 240w blackstar panel is like 20 more bucks than the kessil h150s. Affordable cheap blows standard HID lighting out the water (i guess plasma/induction is considered hid...) unless your using plasma/induction which is very interesting. MH and HPS are outmoded and old tech now waste of time and money. The ONLY bulb i would consider running on a non induction or non led light is a CMH bulb and you can only get those up to 400w good for small grows but you still have heat signature issues to deal with in the long run just not worth it to me anymore. It's time to start thinking green to grow green guys...

I agree with the above post do your research there are good LED"s out there for cheap and there are a lot of good ones out there for an assload of cash but you dont need to spend the assload of cash if you know how to do your research just dont be duped by some of the cheaper companies you have to know what to look for.

Anybody that hasn't used Kessil technology, hasn't experienced cutting-edge LED potential.

A mere 30w of light has grown me a bush like you wouldn't believe. Buds everywhere.

Believe what you will, but I've been to the mountaintop.

i have used both led's and cfl's for vegetive growth and they performed better than hps insofaras the veged plants were stocky and bushier that under hps. however i have not tried either for flowering, i just stick to the hps that i have it penetrates better than the other 2

[FONT=&quot]LED lights use less energy and last longer than traditional light bulbs. They offer a brighter light coming from smaller-sized equipment.

what kind of setup you got besides that 600w monster? i got around 600w total led from them in my 4x4 cab

i'm just wanting to try a straight LED on flower to see how it compares to my 600w hps.

most likely i will end up running both led/hps together on the next time around.
