LED grow height?

Hi there everyone!

Today i just got my 300w (150 actual watts) LED grow lights delivered. 1st time grow and ive been running 5 plants (2 afghani,1 northern lights both on week 5 and 1 G13 haze & 1 bluetooth autoflower strain on week 2) under a 200w CFL grow.

I think its just about the right time to increase light intensity but i dont know the proper distance i should keep the LED on veg since i dont have a lux meter. I know you should keep a distance of at least 18" for flower but is it the same for veg?

I attatched a photo of my current grow under CFL so you guys could give me an idea on the proper height i should start with. I know ive been relying heavily on RIU for every damn thing i do with my plants so THANKS in advance! :)

What brand? I keep my viperspectra 300's 24" until flower, then down to 18" or so... It wont "burn" the plant but it will stress or bleach it.
Unfortunately its one of those cheap china models that go on sale. I plan to use this for veg supplemented by 200 watts of CFL daylight spectrum. Im still thinkining of what add for flowering. This is definitely not enough.

On the other hand that's a really nice scrog you got going on. How many grams of dried bud do you expect from that setup and how many watts of LED are you using?

Here's a pic of the current setup. I think i set the LED lights a little too high, but i dont want to stress them out by setting the lights too low. I think this is close to 28". What do you guys think?

Ignore the 2 CFL's that are too high. I know im supposed to bring them down more but im struggling to fix my setup as of the moment. Lol.

Its hard to say. Probably 2-6 oz? Im using two ViparSpectra 300w reflectors. Probably 250 true watts.

Between 1 and 2 foot away I found when I tried Chinese LED ages ago.

1 foot will give more leaf growth but it wont stretch at all Plants ended up being 1.5 foot tall 6 plants each just under 1O. (Thats height I used first time I used it)
2 foot will give lots of stretch but not much leaf growth. Ended up being 3.8 foot tall, 6 plants center ones just over a 1O, outer ones just under a O. (Thats the height I used the 2nd time before I got rid of it for COB LEDS)

So total of 500 actual watts right? Is the 2-6oz total or is that per plant? Hmm. Im trying to hit 3/4 lb or a pound if possible so that means my current setup is seriously underpowered. Ive read that HPS are much more effecient but LED's produce a better quality bud so i might end up adding 400watts of HPS so i can maximize yield.

I was quite disappointed at the 150 true watt LED (advertised as 300w) grow light i got. Although they're really cheap (approx $80) They dont put off as much intensity as i hoped they would thats why i was tempted to reduce the distance from my plants. Although they might be of some help spectrum wise? Not quite sure. It might just be my sorry excuse that i had my ass ripped off. Anyway, i was just wondering if i should add like 2 more of these suckers or just go for a more effecient 400w HPS? My goal is about a pound or slightly less from 5 plants. I figured that adding 2 more LED's of the same kind would be much cheaper than going for a 400w HPS since the price of the ballasts and cooling tubes are ridiculous where im from but i dont want to compromise yield and quality.

That's good intensity! It makes my model look like crap. I'm living in south east asia so Im not sure if i can purchase that model off ebay. :(

Currently its one plant in my scrog under two lights. Last run was 2 smaller plants under one light and I still pulled a few oz. I think two of these cheap 300s is equal to a 400w hps.

Actually I misread your question the first time. Its 135w actual for each 300w LED. So total of 250-270w on the one plant.

Your lights all seem to be too far away from the plants.
The LED is like on Pluto as far as the plants are concerned.
Just my opinion.

where can i get one of those? I have very little background on electronics and also would it cost less than to buy readily available LED panels or HPS systems?
