LED Grow Equipment

Hello everyone. I decided I am not going to go the way of CFL's, instead I am going to try out LED growing. I just purchased the Apollo Horticulture GL100LED Full Spectrum 300W in hopes that it will supply enough energy for three crops.

The tent I went with was 36x20x62 By Gyosupply

Any suggestions as what I should do for cooling? How hot will this light get, it has three fans built on it already. And will two 4 inch inline boosters be enough for proper air exchange? One intake on the bottom and one exhaust up top?

Hey Chief, that should be plenty for air exchange, you have the head room and the light shouldn't put out much heat. Assuming you're room that the tent will sit in will be a reasonable temp of course. However, for your exhaust, the boosters are not very powerful or efficient, and they definitely cannot handle an inline carbon filter. So if there's any chance that you will need to worry about scrubbing smell (through the exhaust) during flowering, I'd suggest an Inline Fan (not those booster fans) with 200-300 cfm as it would be able to handle having an inline carbon filter and exhaust.

I appreciate your advice I will look into the inline fans. I'm not going to get a scrubber right away so i planned on just having the fans in without ducting until i need it for the scrubber. The tent is in my closet.

Yeah, as long as you're not going to put a scrubber in the exhaust, your temps will be fine with the LED's and lots of airflow from the boosters. You can always change it out later if needed but if you think you'll need/want to exhaust the smell you'll need to budget for an inline fan for the last few weeks of flower. Smell is train dependent of course but pretty well any strain will stink up the room for about the last 4-6 weeks of flowering. Good luck with the grow...
