Led Distance, and Fertilizer help plz.

Hiya asayrix, I've not got LED yet but lots of peeps on here do and are Growing some Nice Erb! with them. I think it depends on the LED panel you going to use and the Space ?x ?x ?x you have to illuminate and how many plants you have under them..

From some of the Posts/Threads I've read a lot of peeps like the HANS & Area 51?

I know other Factors play a BIG pt and maybe I'm reading to much into this...But...

- "I used 2 panels of 65 watt each to produce 153 grams, 5.2 Ounce, of great Marijuana with only 103 KwH of electrical power, 0.67 KWH per gram. With HPS it would take about twice the amount of electrical power and space to produce a similar amount."



Worth having a read of how it went for this guy.....

Hey mate thx for your comment. My space is 90 x 90 x 115 cm And i am going to grow 4 autos.

it is 378 Watt. I think it should be enough for 4 plants. You think I should put 2 CFL on sides?

If it's a quality light 378w could easily burn your plants in a box that size.

i use a 300w LED and 50-60cm (2ft) between the plants and light is recommended.

You'll need to be careful, esp when they plants are young- although LEDs don't give off a huge amount of they'll still cook your plants if they're to close.

Some experience over the last year taught me to go light at first, keep the light 30" above the seedlings for the first couple of weeks, ideally if your light has a veg/bloom switch, turn it down on veg-only, seedlings don't need a ton of light, wait until they're established. 2nd/3rd week, move the light down to 24"-26", acclimate them, then 3-4 weeks (depends on how well they respond/grow), once they're established, move to 20-22", seems to be ideal. Lot of variables by light, configuration but these numbers should do well with most. Even though LED's don't pump out the heat, they can burn (been there, done that - lol) seedlings easily.

RE: Water. Take it easy if this is your first LED grow and particularly if you've come from the HPS/HID world. Since LED's don't produce as much heat, the plants will use less water, it's easy to over-water. Go slow at first, keep an eye on the soil/wetness and figure out your watering schedule from there.

RE: Nutes. I'm soil/organic so no comments there. Going to try some hydro next round so I'm doing a lit of lurking/reading on nutes myself...
