We do not use any paste for heat transfer, we use Berquist thermal pads. With finned aluminum heat sinks and aluminum circuit boards, and 120mm ball bearing fans rated for 19dba and 73cfm, they aren't cheap.

Of course the 250w model is old tech, they are from late 2011. Which is why we're releasing a new light that is the latest tech.

Just because 2 lights look the same, does not mean they are. Especially with the Chinese copying things that were already copied, which is probably still a copy.

One more point is how bad those things are made to take apart?, strip one to find out. Loads of Allen keys holding the modules and front plate on. Then you take the cover plate off from the LED and all the lenses fallout. Then there is the ABSOLUTELY terrible heat transfer paste, poor china Taiwan etc.. cant match us for Heat transfer solutions. Apart from all that, they aint bad lights to test, heres a pic of mine to prove im right......plus I added my own two spectrum modules in the middle, pure 660nm. Worked a treat, accelerated the one on the left to finish loads faster then was expected, so sorry mate, your lights aren't new tech.....ive had these ones a year now and they were the first,. Before Craplys (sorry) Cidlys Appollo range, and yes all the insides of that unit is patented by its inventor so no copying, naughty naughty, they work but still a nightmare to strip.

And a big thing people forget to consider is binning, and also how hard the LEDs are driven. The harder they're driven, the shorter they last and the less efficient they are.
yeah basically what I just said. Anyway 15 clusters of 3w are out mate, new DMA ones are coming in, Fair play to ya tho for your polite answers, even tho they do sound lie a sales pitch....Best of luck to you. if you need another tester....I try to give everyone a fair chance. Post grow journals with them.

One of the reasons I am dropping the 15 LED circles is because they are difficult for some people to distinguish from others using the same design. They are all over China, and many people do sell them.

The new lights are totally different and we did pay a lot for the case mold. And they are 5w Cree LEDs, and some XPE's too.

Not a sales pitch, but you are entitled to believe whatever you want, I'm not mad at you. You said you're in the UK? The new light wont be available in the UK until we have a distributor there (there's a couple we're considering), and I'm not interested in having a year old already tested light (re)tested when there's only 3 units remaining. It just not make any sense business-wise.

Look at Beefbiscuit's journal here, he's using one of our lights. https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/586430-omg-beefs-again-area-51-a.html There's others if you look.

Again, you are entitled to your own opinion. I'm not mad at you. But I am putting you on my ignore list.

What's wrong with you ...you are the troublemaker here.

You say his "attitude is poor" you have to be kidding.

He has been polite and has at no time called you any names and has been very patient with your rude posts but you consistantly seem to be on his a$$ for whatever reason I don't know.

You say he avoids "criticism" of his lights ..you have to be kidding. He answered and explained where he gets his parts and blah blah blah but you still have a problem with him.

Do you go around being a bully all the time or are you just worried about competition or is it that he didn't fall for your crap .WTF is your problem ?

I'm don't come here to read thru your crappy posts and then you threaten the guy saying if you have anything to do with it he won't be able to sell in the UK..Who do you think you are !

How about if someone did the same to you and went out of their crazy mind to stop you from selling here in the USA for no reason other than some nutty notion in your head ?

And no I have no clue who the guy is and I'am building my own lights because I can't afford to buy his lights or
any other LED light ...But when I see a troll like you harassing someone who's trying to make a honest living and not living off the GOVerment it's disturbing.

Seems to me you want a light for free being you are some kind of official tester in the UK..tell us all how did you get that title ?

Here's exactly what you said "Best of luck to you. if you need another tester....I try to give everyone a fair chance. Post grow journals with them."- "OK Area 51, ufo over a light to me and ill test it and journal it for you, how about that? I pick my own spectrum tho. Oh free of charge aswell please for my services. My other ones are free BTW. Purely tester .

Seems to me you are mad he didn't offer you a free light to test so now you will bash him. Is this your M.O ?

I suggest everyone avoid any feedback from you regarding any LED light you get because you get them for free and are bound to give a good rating . You then proceed to bash the companies who don't send you a free LED light.

It's very clear that you are bias and have alternative motives.

Then you bash cidly calling them "craply" saying you can't open their panels ..bullcrap..their panels are so easy to open and troubleshoot. What happen did they deny you a free light to test or something ?

Do you even realize it's you who is coming off like a douchebag ?

I hope this guy "Eraserhead" copies everyone of your posts for future reference and let other's decide who the troublemaker is here in this thread...just in case.

If it were my company and you threatened to slander my company for no reason other than you didn't get a free light to test I would have you in court in no time.

lol ok mate fair point. I don't need his lights, I was just making a example of what a good honest supplier would of done. Perhaps he would offer someone closer to home to test first. Why not just journal them himself? Troll I am not. UK I am. My profession is my business but I am a LED tester for uk and worldwide suppliers. I am also a top reviewer for Ebay and Amazon in the UK, so im bound to be a critic, who are you? something I know about this shady business of LED suppliers and Vendor wars is that there is a lot of 'secret' supporters of these companies, I called his bluff with tech, that's all, no one forced you to read what I typed, all that I did type was just FACT. But.......I will swallow my pride and admit it DID come across as me being arsed at not getting his light, and I apologise for that, its not that I need his Light anyway, you seen my albums yet? I got two and a HPS & Plasma grow on at the mo, I cant fit anymore in! So ill wind my neck in if you wind yours in. Ill just get back to my testing and leave all the griping about parts etc... to others. Fair enough?

And how did I get this title of LED tester? lol Oxford University Graduate for 4 years, Electronics Engineering Degree, still working at oxford part time, alongside British Aerospace Research Team and the EDEN Project, Wales. Also interested in Apache TECH LED's that nasa are going to take to mars, researching on spectrums and pulse modulation technology.,but also a MJ smoker to relieve chronic pain due to it being illegal to take here and the pharmaceutical crap pills give you worse side effects then the main illness itself. Medical research into MJ is also a passion of mine. You?

Let me explain something to you...

You can't go around threatening to destroy someones business because you don't like their answers. That's a lawsuit
in the making and one which can be won very easy and the arm of the law has a very far reach.

Yes there is alot of shady crap going on in this LED world because theirs tons of money to be made.

Here we have a company whos willing to post online and answer questions which is rare and you decide to
bash the company and threatened him and his company..that's not kool !

You are digging yourself a deep hole . The internet wild west days are coming to an end and people are being held accountable and sued left and right for trying to destroy someones rep and/or company so I suggest you think long and hard about what you post. I suggest you check the web and see how many people are being sue for doing exactly what you are doing.

I don't even know the guy and have not ever even posted to him because his products are too expensive for me so I will build my own when the funds are available.

Do I think they are overpriced..yes but so are many others except for some cheap chinese lights but I don't go around threatening to destroy their company .

That is over the line.

I rather someone who is creating jobs and not living off the dole even if I can't afford their product .

So having degrees makes you an official tester ..are you serious ?

Well maybe I should try and get some free shit ...should I just harass them and then threaten them until they give in ..tell me how is it done ?

Wonderful thread have read almost everything, I know you guys touched a little on it, and even though roguetrooper is a skeptic I seem to think the new 2013 A51 light will be the go to led atm, however my local shop has been riding this Illumitex light super bad. They seem to be selling them a crap ton too don't have any returns and swears that a Colorado dispense has had beautiful results however I can't find any feedback online. http://www.illumitex.com/led-horticulture-fixtures/neosol-2/ http://www.mouser.com/catalog/catalogusd/645/102.pdf

haha Honestly I want to believe in them so bad, they have a beautiful side by side with tomatoes the things dissipate heat superb it seems. But literally I can't find hardly any actual product feedback anywhere other than my local shop. I've always been much more of a visual evidence type of person. It is refreshing though to see some of the innovation in this light fixture.

the new 2013 feros I think might be from cidly since they split with A51.. They look identical to the apollos in every way even the heat sync... I have to agree that A51 is killing it and will be the go to led for a while. They are more expensive than cheap chinese lights but cheaper and better quality than the more expensive panels. Theres plenty of journal on here that support that. next would be hans and apache tech. Everybody on here is overly anxious for the new a51 cree panels to get here....... A51 probably has the best warranty around too

Can I get a soul clap...

Ah yes, i've been wanting to see some reviews of illumitex neosols as well. Let us know if you find anything.

ahhh its killing me that the more you google them the more you just learn about the 50 million dollars of investment they raised and all the bologna about their patents. Shop dude says they are doing a terrible job marketing, but the reason is they are selling their products perfectly fine right now (Hydrofarm just picked them up) so they feel like they have no need to. IDKKK if so many people are buying them why can't I find just one journall. 1 freakinnn journal. -_- Illumitex you confuse me. as of now long live A51:!:
