More than enough !

It is a pretty "flat 'n ' wide heatsink ....

To make it work efficiently by active cooling it can be tricky ....
-There has to be created a "air tunnel " ,channeling air flow to all fins (wide-wise ) ...
Isolated funnel box (now for length-wise ) to introduce continuous air flow (usually from center of heatsink towards both ends ..parallel always to fins !!! )

So ...Really wide heatsink there ....Allows for placing led modules /pcbs /leds greatly apart (increasing coverage per heatsink ) but cooling with fans can be tricky ...

You have to make a "low profile air tunnel /channel ( because of short fins )-
keep low pressure(air output-fins 'exaust '- larger than air input-fans - &
have as high air flow as possible ...
Wide Dia fan(large blades) - I suspect -and low rpm is needed .....(thus silent ... and with service life longetivity ) ..
And maybe more than two per light ...

Okay Eraserhead, I won't get into the fact you have been just drop shipping from China with an office coming soon (all grown up it seems),
or the fact you have been selling lights without a way to test them (spectroradiometer) and I can tell you with our over 4 years in this business that what Chinese manufacturers say is not to always be trusted (which is why you said you were buying LEDs yourself),
or ask if your new model will also be bringing the upgrade kits to market that have been promised on your site for too long,
of ask how you can say your last spectrum was the best to just roll out a different spectrum and ask your customers to still trust you,
or have a pissing contest about any of this.....

We (Black Dog LED) are asking for a public head-to-head test against the Area 51 light. I don't know what sizes you are coming out with but give us the spec for your 1000w HID light and let's do a head-to-head. You have a lot of time to talk in the forums so how about actually growing. At the end of the day I assume this is what everyone in these forums cares about.

I don't even know what your new lights are like design wise but honestly you tried to call us out enough. How long have you been selling lights or growing for that matter? Hope you have had time to test your new lights against some real competition, and no a spreadsheet model of your spectrum doesn't count for real testing. Last time I checked you cannot use a spreadsheet as medicine.

So my groom lake lighting friend, when is you new light out and ready to go?

And this is coming from a company that wont share their specs with their customers and uses some fake ass 5w Epistars.

You say you have a spectroradiometer, but wont even show a representation of what your spectrum looks like.

We're not a drop shipper, I've explained the process of how our lamps are made, it is far from drop shipping. If I'm buying all the parts from where they are made and having them built per my specs by a place that is not even an LED factory, how can I drop ship them then? Do you even know what drop shipping is?

I'll put up a light for a side by side. 170w of mine vs. 300w of yours.

I'm not going to spend the night arguing with you on the internet. If you want to talk, my #'s on the website.

Interesting grow-off proposal. May I be so keen as to ask for a run down on the light you'd match with Eraserheads 170w model, Perro? What kind of LEDs you use/datasheets? A rough spectrum, perhaps?

No desire to argue, keep in mind you called us out for no reason so time to put up.

As an LED seller you know that the big lights are what people want. I would also go as far as to say this is what they would want to see tested. I put out the challenge for the biggest light you have assuming it is a stated 4 x 4 footprint and replaces a 1,000w HID. What is you largest light in the new lineup?

Our biggest against your biggest. No arguing.

I am not sure what light of ours he is talking about. We have a 340w and a 450w watt light, the BD360-U and 450-U respectively. I would guess he is referring to the BD360-U at 340 watts but that wouldn't really be fair.

We don't share our spectrum since we have spent over 5 years working on it. Eraserhead will undoubtedly post it when he gets his meter. A rough spectrum is no problem. Just look at any PAR chart and add in a bit of far red and blue and you are more than roughly there :-)

Well, you give less information of your product than even so-called "Chinese dropship" companies. I don't know if you're just trying to be funny or not?...

I don't consider selling a product to patients with cancer and other "terminal illnesses" funny. Eraserhead called us out and we stand behind our lights. It is not rocket science to make a good spectrum. The research is out there is just takes time to find it all and experiment. We just don't believe in giving all of our hard earned knowledge out.

What we DO believe in is standing behind our lights. Let's just do a head to head and let the results speak for themselves.
