Yeah man no joke hey the girls are lovin it I rekn she'll be a nice yield too.
Last harvest I had 1 detroit badass and 1 Pineapple Express and yielded just over 8 oz which wasn't too bad first time round with a51s but I think with the d papillon it's gna add some serious weight . I might have to get another 315 w I rekn lol .

What heights do you run your lamp at for veg n flower bro I've got mine round 16
Yeah, that combo will surprise you how much yield you'll pull, good luck with the grow, slow and steady... but keep a close eye on them first round, they surprised me how fast they developed the first round, at one point watering every 2 days as they just kept sucking up whatever I gave them.

I'm running the Sun System setup @16-18" above the canopy this round, think that's around the sweet spot. Still a bit of trial/error, got burn and bleaching @12-14" last round, light is super-intense off these things.
I was thinking of adding another through the winter as I need the extra heat in there anyhow. Torn on getting another, going to build and try my 3070 COB panels first, need more heat in there through the winter anyhow and I can run about 600-700w easy. While I like these lights, those COB's seem to be as good or better, and I do like the quality of LED's. So many options, could do a separate LED run, or a larger (e.g. 3x5') combo/mix. My only issue with the combo setup is I'd need a larger veg area to feed a 3'x5' so I may start with separate 4 week perpetual runs until I build a larger veg room...

Hi all, officially closing the first run, trimmed up PPP last night. Dried a little faster than I like, this strain had few leaves so it was basically trimmed when I hung it other than sugar leaves which contributed to the faster dry.

Wasn't far off my guesstimate with the weight, just shy of 100g for this PPP:
Oil bin lard/popcorn/sugar-trim: 10.9g
Regular/usable bud: 84.9g
Total Weight: 95.8g/3.4 oz.
This stuff is fire, they claim 20%+ THC and it sure feels like it. Can't say much on taste/smoothness as it's not cured. But I smoked a spliff before trimming and hadn't smoked anything all day. Long buzz (2 1/2 hrs. or so), def an up/head stone but a little body stone rush within the first minute or so to go along with it. No crash/couch lock but definitely dry mouth. Need a beer with it ;)

Total JTR: 72.6g/2.6 oz. (nicely cured now, lovin this JTR strain)
Total run off 2x 24" plants: 168.4g/6.01 oz.

I'd say the virgin run was a success. Some shit luck at the beginning, pulling 3 males out of 5 going in and having the 2 "runts" left to work with.

As long as I don't f/up anything I'd be surprised if I don't hit 300g+ with this full 3x3' run based on these numbers and strains in the second run. My target is 315g's on the low end, let's see what we get. No side-lighting this round, want to let this LEC system show us what it can do on it's own with a full footprint. Likely the last controlled run as I have a bunch of things on the go to expand the room lighting through the winter season. Only variable I'll have will be running a first Blue Dream in the back corner of the room in a couple of weeks under LED's but shouldn't be any significant light bleeding from it as it'll be a few feet away.

Turning my focus to this 3x3' now. Plants were trained heavily, much the same as the first run but adding a few super-cropped branches, they were 30" or so going into 12/12, pre-stretched, down to about 26" now after tying them up. Should be "epic" as my son would say ;)

PPP weigh-in pics, dry with stalks, separate weights for the popcorn/sugar and buds, buds completely filled one of my 1kg/2lb coffee tins I burp them in, ended up splitting them into 2 to have some air in there for burping.

Well nice. Over 6 oz from two plants. Which would you say was more potent out of the JTR and the PPP ?

Thanks aphrodisia, not bad at all for a couple of small plants, this run should double+ those numbers. Potency-wise they're about the same, JTR is more intense though, I call it Doom mode smoke (if you've seen the movie Doom or played the video game, you'll know what I mean, tunnel vision - lol). They're both rated at 23-25% THC (haven't had them tested though). The PPP high seems to last a bit longer. No crash with either which is why I prefer sats for anything other than bedtime, in that case I prefer a heavier indica. However, the JTR smoke is more tasty and smoother, even when not fully cured. For personal, JTR's worth the lower yield imo, more refined smoke. PPP was one of my searches for a higher THC and potent yield, it has nice bag appeal too, not a bad commercial grade. Cheers :)

Hi all, update on the 3x3 @ Day 12 of 12/12

Good week, plants are healthy, drinking well, off to a good start. Tops are developing, pushing towards the light. They're sitting at an average of 28" H now, footprint is 35" x 38". Coverage is good, moved the light up to 20" above the canopy, started seeing some bleaching on a couple of the leaves closest to the lights at 16"-18". Coverage at 20" is great, edge to edge bud sites are popping up. Buds are popping up quick again, hoping that theme continues like last round :)

Group shots, one from each end of the room. JTR is front-right in the first pic, rest are PPP. Lots of tops coming in :)

Where did you buy the light from? Awesome thread by the way from what I've read it looks and sounds like an awesome set up.

Hey nvhak, see you found it, thanks, liking this setup. I bought this specific kit at Grower's House, they're about the best price for the LEC Sun System 315/120v, ready to go out of the box. Bought a second unit this week, they had a 10% off all lights promo, came in at $442 + shipping. You can DIY something for around $300 but add the high end reflector/hood and you'd be right in the same price range. When looking at CMH, everything I'm posting here is specific to the 315w Philips Elite Agro bulb, there are others (CMH), including Philips like their All-Start line, I think they make a 330 but don't have much info/data on the differences in results. I'd definitely recommend anything that can run these Elite Agro bulbs though.

There's some good reading/links/tech in this thread, few of us had been discussing the bulbs and options to run them in that thread.

1st run flowering, with 2x 24" plants, this thing produced just shy of 3x the weight that 3 plants produced under those LG LED panels we were talking about in my old thread. I had a control strain/clone in the first run, JTR, the results were the same, 3x the weight, pretty impressive. Using 80w more than that LG 450 (300 actual) LED at the wall, the bulb is 315w but running them at 120v, there's about 70w overhead for the ballast and a converter to allow it to run @120v so it pulls ~385w total. Cheers.

Damn that's pretty awesome results you got off of it under that light I'll def look into one and maybe purchase one soon specially with those results. Props to you man:clap:. The pics look awesome too some bud porn for sure. I just started a ak-49 strain and a Maui Waui cuz I've never had it before but always wanted too, under a 400w MH right now, they're still seedlings.

LEC Sun System #2 arrived yesterday, as I unpacked it I was thinking about how easy these are to get going, literally unpack, hang, install the bulb, plug in the chord, and you're up and running, about as easy as it gets. I was planning to run a second LEC through the winter, I just moved up the timeline a bit. I'll be finishing my outdoor plants in the garage with it. Outdoor season sucked here, we already had a first frost Thursday night, anyone I talk to in my area is 2-3 weeks behind normal flowering. Doing this will guarantee a finish and I wasn't going to take a chance on plants I've had going for 4 months. Have never done this (finishing outdoor plants indoor), should be interesting to see how they behave/finish.

Pics of the unpacking and final setup in the garage, the last pic is a majestic JTR, the 4 corner colas are 42" long, the centre colas are about 36", total footprint for that plant alone is about 30" x 36", other 2 plants are the last of the Platinum Bubba Kush I'll be running:

HSO Blue Dream coming up in veg, pic is a week ago, she's 20" D x 28" W x 25" H right now (tied down, she's be about 3' if I'd let her grow straight-up), she's been LST'd, super-cropped and FIM'd a couple of times, already in the trellises (7Gal GeoPot). She'll go into 12/12 in the flower room tonight under LED's for a couple of weeks (basically the stretch), when the garage girls finish, she'll get the new LEC system to herself. Should be a nice little monster after the stretch :)

Is their a reason why you have the reflective walls so far from the canopy?

Girls look good........be safe
Hey psuagro, yeah, it's called being lazy (garage is a mess) and putting it up in a hurry ;) I may pop by HD and pick up a couple more 4x8' panels of that DuroFoam insulation and box them in properly if I get a minute, loosing a lot of reflection on the sides. Still better than the 2-3 hours of light they were getting outdoor though!

awesome thread. nice results on that virgin run. ;)
Hey greenghost, thanks was pleased with the initial results, looking forward to this full run, it's looking awesome already and only 18 days into 12/12. Will be posting my regular weekly update tomorrow w/fresh pics @day 19, getting close to golf ball size buds on the PPP already :bigjoint:

Hi all, weekly update, Day 19 of 12/12 and they're doing great. No defs, been keeping 500 ppm feeds every other watering and the PPP's are liking it better, it got a lot of tip burn first time I ran it at 600. They're drinking well, forming colas/buds fast again.

Lights are working great at 20" above canopy. Not getting any burn/bleaching at this height. Good coverage/spread and penetration is good, you can see some of the lower buds developing in some of the shots. Once again, they're looking like they'll develop fast, if it keeps up, JTR will be 1/2 way next Sunday :)

Threw an HSO Blue Dream I had in a 7 Gal fabric pot into the room last night, it was getting a bit big and I needed the space in the veg cabinet. It'll stretch under LED's, when my outdoor plants finish in the garage, I'll move that CMH into the flower room and finish the Blue Dream with it.

Hey thanks typo, kind of self-serving buying another, now I'm going to have to build more veg space to feed the flower room properly ;) Yeah that BD had to go, it was pre-flowering and taking more than 1/2 my veg cabinet, in you go! Should be interesting to see what it looks like in a couple of weeks, good thing I have lots of space/head-room available, going to need it I think :bigjoint: Cheers...

Awesome grow man looks super good and the light seems to be working awesome. So you say it doesn't put much heat out, is it effective like a LED when it comes to drawing power and racking up the electric bill?
