Leaves 'rusting', nute burn?

I recently pruned this mother plant for cuttings and upped the ppm to around 900 of GH Floranova Grow. It is in a DWC hydro setup. Growth looks pretty good, but leaves appear to be rusting - that is, there are brownish/orange spots scattered across about half the leaves. Anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks

You're pH is too high. It's a Magnesium/Calcium deficiency as a result of the lockout of Iron due to the high pH. pH goes too high when the plant releases excess toxins into the water (basically the plant taking a shit). To combat this problem add about 5ml of H2O2 per gallon every 5 days. That will keep your pH a little more regulated, you still should be testing pH at least once a day to maintain. Should be between 5.8-6.4.

Happy Growing.

Could the problem be that my pH is too low? I just now checked and it's around 5.2, although my meter is pretty shitty... but even if the meter is off by +- 1.0, the pH can't be too high.

Thanks for the reply.

Lol yeah, if your pH is too low you actually lockout mag/cal.

If you lockout Iron, your plant won't take in cal/mag and if its too low its not gonna take up any cal/mag.

Either way the rusting is generally a cal/mag deficiency.

Well shit... I have pH down but not pH up. After mixing the nutes with tapwater, the pH seems to be down in the high 4's or low 5's depending upon the ppm. Should I try to correct with baking soda or just wait and get some pH up or what?

i have the same problem with my leaves. did you get nutrient water on your leaves? did you spray the plants with to much nutrients? uncle jons blend from omari has some good shit in it. im going to spray my plants in the morning with uncle jons blend and plant amp(calcium) and a little bit of mildew cure. im thinking my leaves turned like that becuse when i sprayed then a week ago my mixture was really strong and had all kinds of stuff in it. the plant should eventually even out if it were my plant i would probly just rip the leaf off. i have no idea for a substitue for ph up? lemon jucie is ph down right?

Nope I don't foilar feed, I do however spray it with plain water a few times a day to help keep temps down. Baking soda is basic and will bring the pH up... I'm just not sure if it's safe to use in my res, it might even make the lockout worse.

I had that on my plants and I was told to cut the infected leaves off and when I did the problem went away. I was told it was an air born fungus and I could see it on other plants around mine

disregard my comment on h202 effect on ph i just woke up. was not thinking clearly one thing though if you use h202 it will kill any helpful organisms(fungus bacteria etc..) your adding to your grow or are there naturally.

i think you can burn the plants with plain water when the temps r 2 hot in the day time it magnifies through the water

dolomite lime powder will not only raise your ph to an even 7, but it also high in Mg and calcium. You can mix in water \(well) luke warm and love your pups with it! good luck!
