Leaves dying in late flower

So as the title says I’m in late flower and the same problem I had on the last run looks like it’s coming back for more. Granted this is only my second run and I’m sure I’ll figure this out but has anyone run into a similar issue. The leaves are turning brown and dying from the outside in but new growth still seems to be occurring at the top of the buds! It’s occuring on 3 out of the 8 I have going in the room but it’s a lot more significant on one in particular. I would say it’s mild on the other two as of right now. All plants are being grown in pro mix hp using the air cube system where it floods the pots from the bottom. They are being fed House & Garden and are on about the 48th day of flower. I missed one day of watering about a week ago causing the plants to dry back significantly but I didn’t think I caused this much damage as a result. Please check out the pictures I’ve attached and let me know your thoughts!6FABF95C-D1E2-4183-9C7D-F9D4CE2A1882.jpegA7038A11-9339-4287-83AF-E67ECA292276.jpegFA76C990-AC10-4DC6-B858-C6CA23A9DC85.jpeg158DB683-58FF-4F57-A7F9-05DD440CD528.jpeg11F6D307-384D-4DA7-910E-53198701548F.jpeg237EA141-0BD8-44BA-A9F6-9E2735B02A0D.jpeg7EFFE21B-F65C-4C58-A425-A672E12FBBAD.jpeg80FCCE5A-C2DE-427F-A414-998CBC2AB5C6.jpegB026FE5B-E677-4C77-BA91-E40520B485C4.jpeg69C5A4E1-C9F0-422D-AD1F-EB67E3E1802D.jpeg6FABF95C-D1E2-4183-9C7D-F9D4CE2A1882.jpeg

It's all about how much they've been fed but yes to much dry back can cause problems like that late in flower, especially if you feed high EC. Roots have died off as a result.

Thanks man def learned my lesson on leaving them in late flower. The ec was def high as well they were eating like champs up until this happened. Do you think I can trim out the dead leaves carefully and let them run another two weeks? Maybe even try flushing some nutrients out to get the ec down a bit?

Cannabis needs lots of potassium in late flower. Potassium diffuses through soil so dry soil will make potassium deficiency worse. The plant keeps sucking up calcium and magnesium, chances are you have tons of that since it seems the #1 choice method of ruining bud.

People hate on growers with 20 bottles; this is the reason to have 20 bottles. Cannabis soaks up calcium and struggles with potassium in late bloom. That's why most finishers are potassium magnesium sulfur etc, to push against the calnit you've been feeding for months.

What products would you recommend for that extra potassium kick? I’m running top shooter along with the other recommended nutrients by house and garden. Do you think it’s more likely that the dry back and high ec fried the select few or the top shooter just wasn’t enough?

I've had sugar leaves dying like this on both of my grows so far. I started several threads on multiple forums.

From everything I've been told you should chop it & remove those leaves asap before they cause budrot. Once the leaf necrosis makes contact with the bud surface, the clock is ticking.

If you chop now you can trim real close. Wait any longer & you'll have to expertly pry open the buds to remove each individual leaf. Quite an undertaking.

Just what I've been told. Good luck!!! ;-)

What is the EC and pH of your res?

Looks like you've been feeding way too high and your plants are in lockout.
I was going by the nature and garden recommendations and they were doing great even with the higher ppm. The highest ppm I saw was like 2900 and the ph has been kept at a 6.4 since the end of early flower. The plants were doing fine with the higher ppm/ec I think the real hiccup up here is the dryback they encountered since I left town for the weekend and they missed a watering. I’m just trying to figure out if it’s worth flushing a couple times and feeding a lower dose for the last two weeks or just chopping the three that are looking rough. The five others still look great somehow two of which are the same strain as the ones that are basically dying at this point…. The pics attached are pics of some of the other plants doing much better as you can see 237DD3E4-D476-405A-B7BA-584CC53C4071.jpeg32F5D6AB-8507-4835-B273-FBEA78071E6E.jpeg84859D1A-93BF-4ACB-8DD1-FA32ACC11AE2.jpeg9164F467-8F8D-4EE4-B1A7-7457A81DB769.jpegAA329386-3514-4F9A-A85D-6E75F3E5DD67.jpeg6A772D02-A146-4364-B387-2931A429F44E.jpeg6907471F-B804-485A-89EB-8C606F25143B.jpegDD0FB4D5-B770-474C-B2EF-F573816D32BE.jpeg

I just drained 3/4 of the reservoir and filled with straight tap water and some top booster. I’m going to hit them again in a couple hours with the fresh reservoir currently at a 6.5 ph and 1200 ppms. Tomorrow I’ll go through the three with leaf issues and strip as many of the dead leaves as possible and possibly just take them down altogether after doing so depending on how much is left! I appreciate everyone’s help here like I said it’s only my second grow and I got 5 lbs on my first run. I’m enjoying the process and all of the knowledge from others along the way!

5lbs your first run? Dayum bud, how many plants you running. Impressive

Thanks man last run was 12 plants and way to many and this run was cut down to 8 plants. Looks like it’s going to be the same yield if not more too! Even the ones that have the dead leaves the nugs are rock hard which is also disappointing to know how they would have finished. At least the 5 others are nice and healthy! Here’s a pic from the last run:

They are not doing fine on 2900 ppm. All of your plants are suffering from burn and heading towards lockout. The dry back wouldn't have helped but it's not the cause of the problem. The salts are too high and the roots are not up taking nutrient. The plants is using the stored nutrients in the leaves to keep itself alive.

You need to give them plain ph'd water for about 4 or 5 days to try and get the roots to feed again. Then just give them A + B at 500ppm.

You can grow huge plants and a big harvest and never go over 700ppm and your plants will be healthy from start to finish. It's good to learn to grow this way and learn how to read the plant before you start trying to push high ppm's.

Five of the 8 are definitely fine at this point and not like the others. I’m feeding now with straight tap basically and some added potassium but that’s it

Believe whatever you want to mate. I'm just telling you what I see based on what I've learnt through my own grows.

The potassium you added to the water isn't doing anything positive if the roots can not uptake it.

10-4 just trying to be positive as the 5 still look very good but who knows how they will look tomorrow

Thats fucking insane and just a waste of nutrients..... Power feeding them would be 1600ppm range. I let my res fluctuate ,I ph at 5.3 and let em drift up to around 6.3, depending on what week it is I'll readjust with ro water or just change the res out. the drift seems to check alot of boxes off for optimum ph for different nutes and it works great for my res, YMMV. Your right at the extreme alkaline ph for hydro, Maybe tone down the ppm and ph a bit and they'll come out of it, the existing damage is done and you can just give em a close shave , you'll never know .Other than the tips the plants and setup looks pretty good :)

Try running your next grow on no higher than 750 ppm and your plants will be a lot happier
To be at 750 I would have to run the feeding chart at a quarter of what it asks for in the house and garden app maybe less. My well water after being filtered is a 6.4 ph and about 250-300 ppms

Hey like I said it’s only my second run and up until the dryback things were perfect. My ph was kept at 5.8-6.1 from veg to the end of early flower, after early flower it’s been at a little bit higher range from 6.2-6.5. Im def going to tone down the nutes in the next run but def interested in how they would have made out if I didn’t miss a watering
