This is a pic of the leaves I lost 24 hrs ago. This is only the leaves from 5 of 7 plants, I still have to clean the other 2. It's in one of those small 1.5 to 2 gallon bathroom garbage cans and it's more than half full. If I took pics of all the leaves in there one at a time, I'd be posing the pics for hours.

The damage hasn't stopped and it's getting worse & worse as time goes on. If I don't figure this out soon, I think the plants are going to die. They're loosing leaves faster than they can grow them. And the damage is climbing to the leaves higher on the plant as the number of the lower leaves gets smaller & smaller.

I don't think it's nute burns after I flushed and the flush didn't seem to slow down the damage.

Again, I flushed with 5 gallons of water followed by 91oz of a Clear-X sollution. Tommorow I'm going to start 42gallon flushes but I don't really think it's going to help. I'm just doing it because I don't know what else to do.

If anyone has any other suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Also, the pics from 1-20 were taken before I fed them which is why I thought they were caused by deficiencies. The damage did accellerate after I fed them, but I'm starting to think that the accelleration wasn't caused by the feedings. But the accelleration may have been caused by the salts from the feeding and/or because I started them on full doses instead of starting small & building the ammount slowly.

I need help with this ASAP. Again, if anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.

Bump, I really need help with this. The current damage looks like N Toxicity but I'm pretty sure it's not. If it were, the flushes should help.

+rep for any ideas that might help.

You're throwing so much stuff at them it's any body's guess what is wrong. Most likely a combination of factors. Blood meal is a quick organic source of N and will cause a toxic situation when combined with other salts. What is the final NPK values that the plants see?

Also, a 10 gallon pot is mighty big, so you may have a root rot problem caused by a lack of air. Do not water until the pot feels light to the lift.

See my sig line, I think you'll find the answer there.

Good luck,

Smell the soil real good. If it stinks you might have root rot. Those leaves look like a few plants of mine a month or so ago that got stem rot from a tray that got plugged up 3 times. Then it seems like they get stressed and stop taking up nutes. But we keep feeding them more. Mine never came out of it. I was lucky though, this happened at week 7. so i flushed for a week to 10 days and harvested.

I agree. He needs to dump out a plant and have a look at the root system. My bet is it's toast, and of course, the plant never recovers from such an "aw shit" incident. I covered this in point #4 of my sig link.

On another note. UB can i pm u and pick your brain on nutes and ppm levels in my hydro setup ?

I'd rather you do so in a thread. I don't do hydro, so if you're gonna post label names rather than NPK and micro values, I can't help ya.

I honestly doubt that it's root rot. If anything I've been underwatering them, and I'm only giving them one gallon at a time.

To me it looked like N Toxicity. The flush didn't get rid of it all together, but I won't know if it slowed it down till tommorow. I'm planning on another flush with 42 gals of water each, I was just waiting on the soil to dry a bit before I started. And when I pull them out to flush I'll be able to get a took at the current folliage situation.

I might get a good look at the roots in the next couple of weeks if they survive. I'm building a pretty big flower room (10' 8" x 5') and I think I'll have enough room for 15 gallon planters when it's ready. I think the plants may also be getting root bound. After the last flush some news paper got ripped away from the drain holes and some of the roots came out. They were brown but strong & not mushy at all. That's the same way it was when I transferred out of the 5 gallon planters though. The roots were thick & white but around the drain holes that had ripped open, they were brown.

I have them in a small space right now (4' x 5' 8") so it's hard to get a good look at them unless you pull them out of the closet. But the day after the flush it didn't seem to slow down, but it has seemed to slow down since. I wont know for sure till tommorow afternoon or night.

Thanks for the help guys, but can you drop by tommorow night. As soon as I finish the flush I'll post a message. I may have found the problem, but I may still need your help.

Thanks.

I got stem rot at the same low humidity. I dont think it matters.

Have you smelled the ball yet ?

I haven't stuck my nose right up to the soil, but I haven't smelled anything bad. Not since I fed with fish emulsion anyway, that stuff stinks like hell. lol

It's not root rot though, if anything I've been underwatering not overwatering.

When I flushed with that clean-x or clear-x, or whatever it's called, and 5 gallons of water, the damage didn't stop, but it seems to have slowed down. So tonight I took them out to clean them & take some more clones. And I took the one with the worst damage and gave her a 40 gallon flush. In a few days I'll check her and see if the damage has stopped. I hope it does because if it's not nute burns, then I'm all out of ideas.

The only thing I can tell from the information you are giving is that the humidity is way too low for vegging plants. In low humidity the leaves keep releasing humidity until they dry out, at very low humidity the leaves pores close and that can cause the leaves to die.

Huh? Take your pot and set it in a tub or the sink and water from the bottom up by ONLY filling up the sink with water, allowing water to enter the pot ONLY thru the drainholes. Let it sit there for about 15 minutes, drain well, and then fertilize with a complete, balanced food, about 1 tsp/gallon. Rainwater if you got it.

Make a mental note of the weight of the pot. Water again when the pot feels light to the lift. A good root system will quickly wick away soil moisture. Doesn't matter if your RH is desert conditions, a good root system will take care of the plant's water requirements.

Other than water, what's the active ingredient in Clear-X?

Good luck,
UB

Sorry I've been gone soo long, I lost my net connection for a while but should have it back in a few weeks.

The original problem ended up being a lack of light to some of the lower leaves due to over crowding. When I fed them, I created a N Toxicity that the flushing corrected. To correct the overcrowding I traded the 2 GDPs for space in a warehouse so I can buld up the folliage again & flower.

The watering by feel method has never worked for me, I seem to over water a lot that way. So I just feel the leaves and when they start feeling limp I water. That seems to have worked out a lot better for me.

Not sure what's in the Clear-X. The same guy that traded me for the warehouse space recomened it and gave me some in some tupperware, so I never got to read the ingredients.
