Leaf Septoria or deficiency? Indoor autoflower grow.

I thought I noticed this towards the end of my first grow. After harvesting and planting new seeds here we go. Nothing but Ocean Forest soil and tap water (brita filtered which helps pH get in ideal range in my area.)

Septoria typically doesn’t show till closer to flowering. Looks like Ca def. maybe the Brita is not serving you well.

Filtered water is the culprit here. You don't need to adjust PH in organic soil because the microbes buffer it for you. The filter is taking out minerals and good stuff like calcium.

Thanks to both. This is a needy plant alright! Perfect temp/humidity/lighting/amended soil and still have problems because I am using to pure water. Lol!

The Brita filter can remove calcium and other minerals in the water which the plant enjoys. Chlorine on the other hand the plant will not enjoy so make sure you're letting your tap water sit in sunlight for a period of time to neutralize the chlorine- IF you have chlorinated water where you live- if you're not in north America this may not apply to you.

If you live in North America you can leave water out for days but the chloramine is not going to dissipate like the chlorine would. Which is why most public water is treated with chloramine. Further fresh out of the tap doesn't alter microbial life hardly at all.

Interesting. I'll have to look into this.
All that aside that filter will filter out calcium and other minerals. Ask me how I know?

Also leaving water out causes loss of oxygen in the water and this is not something that's helpful.

So after looking into it I guess it really depends on where in North America you live and there is no standard exactly and can change depending on a number of factors throughout any given year. The compound chloramine occurs after treating chlorinated water with ammonia, so if you have chloramine is in your water you need to treat the chlorine and ammonia. That being said plenty of use of plain chlorine seems to take place and sunlight will work. I guess contact your water company or test your water to know.
As for loss of oxygen you can try a bubble stone.
Or if you're some Mr money bags you can buy a big ass expensive water treatment system lol.
All this aside I still think the reason the op's plant is calcium deficient because the waters calcium content is being filtered.

Oh man if I did that with my tap water my plants would be sad! The shit that comes out if my tap smells like a pool! Not even kidding. I have had tap water not too far from where I live now that I could use straight from the tap.

Smell is often from iron but I'm not there and you are. My buddy's well water is so damned bad it won't bloom bread yeast.

I'm not surprised! The water in north America isn't as good as we think it is! Half the places I've lived we couldn't stand drinking the water. It shouldn't make you sick to drink it, especially in "new development".

Basically if your TDS is 200 or less you're good to go using it. If there's a leaky faucet outdoors with weeds under it . . . ..
