Hey peeps,
I have grown in soil for a long time and do it pretty well, and now I am tinkering with hydro to see if I want to switch over.
But I'm having some uglies in the new growth and I am looking for some input if any of you guys have any.

Considering this is a stretchy strain I immediately put the rooted clones into the 4" rw cube. When the roots grew out of the bottom of the cube after about 5 days or so I put them on the flood table on a coco mat, topped and flipped to 12/12. They are now 5 days into flowering.
The roots are just starting to grow past the coco mat and onto the table, they appear white and healthy

There is some yellowing on all new shoots along with some downwards cupping(older leaves are green and look ok), which leads me to believe it is either overwatering, low iron, high nute.

PH = 5.7 - 6.0
PPM = 700 - 800
Water Temp = 70-80
Air temp = 82
Flood 2 times per day for 15 min.
Day 5 of lowering

I know my rez temp could be lower, we had a nasty heat wave the last few days so I put iced bottles in every day to keep the water temp as close to 70 as I can.

As you can see they looked just fine day 1 flower

Hi,
I think you are doing good for your first hydro.

What is the base substance below your RW?

will you add more RW or another media to surround blocks as plants get larger?

I see you did not unwrap you blocks, they hold a lot more water that way, I know that for sure.
Is that your intention?

I unwrapped my RW But what do I know it's my first grow!

I do get roots coming out all sides because my blocks unwrapped and are surrounded by clay pellets.

Your system addresses my main problem, Plant movement.
Mine are stuck where they root.

If you are staying in just a 4" cube how big a plant do you think you can get?

Thanks for reading and sorry for all the questions but you are Miles ahead of me in your setup.

Bless,
DZ

no

yes, to prevent air pruning and algae

Thank You!
Straight Answers, you are the Man.
I am doing trying to do a small grow.
I am in 12/12 to find sex, 8th day and I found two males.
They Dead!
I have 6 more mature plants plus 10 others all locked in place in my system.
I designed it and I am a dumb ass sometimes.

I think I will copy your use of Coco Mat and wrapped RW, 2' plants would be perfect to me!

Thanx Again,
Bless,
DZ

no problem.
yes i do recommend the coco mat, it provides a place for the roots to grow into and keeps them in place. without all of the ph and moisture issues that rockwool possesses.
