Laws for Patients?

So I am a patient, and I've been to a couple coops and started wondering...

Can we as a patient buy from other medical patients who grow, or trade/exchange plants/seeds/etc?


I know you need to be authorized to buy from a coop, so if someone had their own system inside their home could they have open trade - not until legalization happens?


I'm not asking to do illegal activities whatsoever, I'm asking so I remain as legal as possible.

Not sure what state you are in as all the laws are state specific. In California as long as you are somebodys primary care giver, you can buy weed for them, transport it for them, grow for them, etc. You have to be a primary care giver though. If you both just have reccomendations and neither of you is a primary care giver to the other, than you can't legally transfer weed, seeds, plants, etc. between the users. I am no lawyer but as I understand it, you have to be somebodys primary care giver in order for them to legally do anything with you regarding weed...
