So I sprayed down the hut with a bleach solution and all my girls down with a habenero solution. This was really just a proactive measure since none have mites to my knowledge. The only one that does is quarantined at the moment; all the girls except her are now in the "sterile" hut now. Temps are at 73° and RH at about 40% :) much better. Lights down there will be on from 6PM to 12PM. Figured that would be the coolest times to run em. My 1KW MH bulb is not firing on correctly so I'm running the 600 in there at the moment. Thanks guys for all your help regarding the room prep thoughts/tips

Hey ev1, curious to know what your preferred treatments for fungus gnats are. I've heard a lot of recommended products thrown around, but this group of peeps in this thread I know, and trust your judgement. Whatcha say?

Never had em so don't really know man, other than what I read about treating them.

Maybe we can track down Joe Mac. and ask him for his thoughts, he seems to have a really good handle on bug issues bro.

I'm sure Cas will weigh in on this in a bit, I trust what he says about bugs and growing...the man knows his way around a grow room.

Don't forget you have somewhere else to ask this ? also...:)

Joe knows his way around bug issues for sure!

What has always worked for me pretty quickly to kill fungus gnats is mosquito dunks. Fill up a 5 gallon bucket with about 3-4 gallons of water and drop one dunk in, let it sit for 12-24 hours stirring whenever you get the chance. Then just drench the soil with it making sure to soak the top 1" thoroughly (thats where the larvae are). Within 2-4 days you should notice a dramatic drop in the population. It will only kill the larvae though so hang some sticky tape to catch the adults. They really are one of the easier pests to eliminate. I usually also hit them with a neem drench just to be safe within a few days after the BT/mosquito dunks. Gnatrol is the same stuff (BT) but have never used it...

Hope they aren't root aphid fliers canna, BT will kill the gnats guaranteed.

I'm confident they aren't RAs. I had these pesky FGs last grow. I never took them that seriously but now that I'm expanding (or plan to anyway), I don't want to let anything get out of hand. Got stickies up already. They collected approx. 30 gnats in 36 hours give or take. I've had worse so I guess there's an upside lol. I've heard gnatrol thrown around. Where you get the mosquito dunks? And are they spendy?

Yeah, good idea not to let them get out of hand. They are called "fungus" gnats for a reason, I am convinced they are what spread a mysterious fungus to some clones and killed them a few months back. Not too spendy, if I remember right they were about $10-12 for a 6 pack of them at HD. They are more expensive at Henry's Hardware etc. I have only gone through 5 dunks in 2 grows...

Awesome man. I'll go pick some up. Here's to hoping the flyers vanish within a week. Otherwise I got a war on my hands..

The girls have really responded well to the sub 95° temps :D

I have them under just a 600 MH figured I'd try and save some electricity lol. They don't really need the 1KW yet, besides it would just mean added heat. The girls all fit in a 4x4 footprint ATM. I'll take a few pictures for you guys in a bit if you promise not to laugh at the puny bitches haha
